Before starting

The main quest of Atonement, scripted by Planet, can be played solo or in co-op. It needs the power and Die Atomwaffe, the wonder weapon built from the three soul chests. Guides advise building the Pack-a-Punch and the shield, and taking Mule Kick for a third weapon, before the boss fight. Since the update of July 23, 2019, the steps no longer break when a player disconnects.

The first temple stone

  1. Three sparking poles: shoot the three electric poles of the outdoor area near Speed Cola with the Atomwaffe. An explosion confirms the third one, and a fuse box near the staircase opens.
  2. The ingot: take it from the fuse box and put it in the furnace of the Double Tap room.
  3. The key: play one full round, then take the key from the furnace.
  4. The drawer: the key opens a desk drawer on the ground floor of the Stamin-Up building. Inside is the first temple stone.
  5. The ritual table: carry the stone down to the temple, at the bottom of the mines, and place it on the table.

The second temple stone

  1. The ritual circles: three red circles light up, in front of Speed Cola, by Crusader’s Ale and near the mine cart system. The second stone floats above one of them.
  2. The souls: kill zombies inside that circle. After a few souls the stone moves to another circle; follow it and do the same until it lands on the ground, “too hot to pick up”.
  3. The bucket: find the glowing blue bucket, which can appear in several places of the map, and fill it at the glowing water of the temple.
  4. Cool it down: pour the water on the stone, pick it up and place it on the ritual table.

The third temple stone

  1. The shovel: it has several possible spots, one of them in the tunnel from Crusader’s Ale where it splits, another outside up the stairs from the outdoor Pack-a-Punch spot.
  2. Dig: dig the spots of the mine tunnels until a glowing blue rail coin comes up.
  3. Repair the mine cart: the coin is refused, the system is offline. Three electrical boxes must be repaired: one in the Double Tap room, one on the other side of the wall from Mule Kick, one in the rail command room.
  4. The cart: put the blue coin in the mine cart system. The cart brings the third stone; place it on the ritual table.

The summoning key

The ritual

With the three stones in place, use the table. The players are locked in the temple and must defend it from zombies and Keepers for about two minutes. The summoning key is then waiting on the table.

Three altars

The key must be charged on three altars, one at a time, each defended from the Keepers: in the Double Tap room, up the stairs by the outdoor Pack-a-Punch spot, and in the tunnels near the mine cart system.

A tip

On the tunnel altar, keeping closed the door between the mine cart system and the altar leaves only one way in for the enemies.

The wall

The charged key goes into the wall near the Juggernog room. It lowers and reveals a room with a teleporter.

The boss fight

The machine to the left of the teleporter starts a 30-second countdown, and every player must stand inside the teleporter when it ends. It takes them to an underground arena where a giant Panzerhound lies asleep. Shooting it does nothing: only the death ray of the arena hurts it.

  1. Wake it up: use the death ray control panel. The ray hits the Panzerhound, which gets up and the fight begins.
  2. Charge: use the panel again. The ray takes about three minutes to charge, while zombies and RAPS attack along with the boss.
  3. Fire: once it is charged, use the panel to fire. Each shot takes a third of the boss’s health.
  4. Twice more: charge and fire again. The second wave brings Keepers with the zombies, the third one zombies, Keepers and RAPS together.

The third shot kills the Panzerhound. The ending cutscene plays and the game ends.

The arena was changed in the update of July 26, 2019 so that the boss could no longer be circle-trained, and the enemies of the fight were given more health on July 21.
