Il Gigante, la fabbrica del Group 935 dove furono costruiti i teletrasporti e dove il Pack-a-Punch compare per la prima volta. Der Riese è il luogo in cui la storia di Zombies comincia davvero, e dove gran parte della lore della serie è scritta sui muri.
Tre teletrasporti da collegare al mainframe, la Wunderwaffe DG-2 nella box, la trappola per mosche nel cortile e il primo vero easter egg a cui la community ha dato la caccia. È anche la mappa che ha fissato lo schema seguito da tutte le successive: corrente, perk, Pack-a-Punch, un'arma meravigliosa.
La First Room è il cortile vicino alla trappola per mosche. È generosa per gli standard di Der Riese, ed è proprio questa la trappola: lo spazio aperto ti permette di correre all'inizio, poi ti si rivolta contro quando l'orda lo riempie. Due finestre e la passerella sopra sono gli unici punti di pressione, e bastano.

The Der Riese First Room leaderboard on Zombie First Room Rankings tracks every verified run held in the starting room of Der Riese, on Call of Duty : Black Ops. 82 records are listed here, and the best rounds on record are 54 in solo by Novariox, 50 in two players by Madsqauwker, 45 in 3 giocatori by MasterSmexy and 43 in 4 giocatori by Zi0.
Der Riese counts in one ranking. The difficulty coefficient multiplies every round reached here, which is how a round 30 on a tight starting room can be worth more than a round 50 on an open one: First Room “High Rounds” (solo 7.3, two players 5.5).
Der Riese is remembered for the Giant factory, Pack-a-Punch's first appearance, the three teleporters and the catwalk and the furnace. The crew: Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki and Edward Richtofen. Weapons and wonder weapons: Wunderwaffe DG-2, Monkey Bomb, MP40 and Ray Gun. Perks on the map: Juggernog, Quick Revive, Speed Cola and Double Tap Root Beer.
First Room is the purest discipline in Call of Duty Zombies: no Pack-a-Punch run around the map, no easter egg, no train through open ground. You hold the spawn room of Der Riese, you keep the doors closed, and you push the round counter as far as the horde allows. Every high round, world record and personal best on this page is backed by its video and checked against the reference boards before it is listed.

Non abbiamo un regolamento nostro. ZFRR segue le regole competitive First Room scritte e curate dal giocatore Zi0 sul suo sito B2, il riferimento usato in tutta la community Zombies.
B2 riunisce le regole generali (niente strumenti di memoria, niente macro, niente glitch fuori mappa, niente emulatori) e quelle specifiche della categoria First Room: le porte restano chiuse, fast ray, rapid fire e il glitch della granata a lancio rapido sono vietati, mentre il fast knifing e lo split-screen restano consentiti. Ogni modifica viene votata pubblicamente.
