The Ray Gun Mark II

The four elemental Ray Gun Mark II variants on display in their cabinet, Alpha Omega, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies

Alpha Omega brings back the Ray Gun Mark II, the three-round burst energy pistol of Black Ops II, and adds four elemental variants to build, each with its own way of firing. The variants are not upgrades of the standard gun: none of them needs it.

Ray Gun Mark II

From the Mystery Box for 950 points, as on the other maps of Black Ops 4 that have it. It fires three-round bursts, 21 shots to a magazine. Pack-a-Punched, it becomes Porter’s Mark II Ray Gun.

The Pack-a-Punched Ray Gun Mark II. A free one waits upstairs in Operations, as a reward of the second step of the main quest.

What every variant needs

  1. The Assembly Kit: a workbench built upstairs in Operations from three parts, the tubing in the Yellow House, the container in APD Control or Solitary, and the canister in the Storage.
  2. A Ray Gun Mark II Frame: once the Pack-a-Punch is open and Rushmore is awake, four televisions around the map show static one after the other, at the Site Entrance, in the Yellow House Backyard, in the Diner and in APD Control. Activate the one that is on, kill zombies next to it until a number appears, and do the same with the next one. Enter the four numbers into Rushmore in the order they came: a cabinet opens with four frames.
  3. A Pack-a-Punched weapon with the right alternate ammo type, which opens the canister of the variant.
  4. The charged canister: each canister is placed in a spot that starts a soul circle. Kill zombies while standing in it until it is full, then bring it back to the Assembly Kit.

Ray Gun Mark II-V

Electric beam, yellow. It fires a beam that can stun several zombies at once, and its ammo refills over time when it is not in use, even put away. Pack-a-Punched, it becomes Porter’s Mark II-V2 Ray Gun.

  1. With a Kill-o-Watt weapon, shoot the panel of the circuit box that gives off a yellow smoke in the Generators room, and take the canister.
  2. One of the five telephone poles of the town sparks yellow. Shoot it with Kill-o-Watt until it glows, then do the same with each pole that sparks next. When all five are linked, a generator in the Cul-de-sac, by the Yellow House, gets the power.
  3. Place the canister on that generator and charge it in the soul circle.

Ray Gun Mark II-X

Full auto, blue. It fires fast single shots that do not go through zombies. Pack-a-Punched, it becomes Porter’s Mark II-X2 Ray Gun, a pair of guns held one in each hand.

  1. With a Cryofreeze weapon, shoot the cabinet that gives off a blue mist: in the garage of Operations, by the back door of the APD Interrogation, or in Prisoner Holding. Take the canister.
  2. Three zombies wrapped in a blue mist appear, mostly in the bunker. Freeze each one with Cryofreeze, then finish it with a melee hit, and pick up the sample it drops.
  3. With the three samples, place the canister in the broken container of APD Control and charge it in the soul circle.

Ray Gun Mark II-Y

Explosive, orange. Its rounds explode without hurting the player, and a charged shot covers a wider area. Pack-a-Punched, it becomes Porter’s Mark II-Y2 Ray Gun.

  1. Build the Telepads first.
  2. A pile of dirt gives off a green mist: behind the Yellow House by the back door, in the Green House Backyard, or on the side of Center Street. Turn a zombie with a Brain Rot weapon and let it dig in the pile: the canister comes out.
  3. An orb then floats above one of the teleporter pads. Place a Telepad under it and hit the orb: it moves to another pad. Place the second Telepad there, hit it again and teleport with it.
  4. The orb then goes to the Storage. Place the canister in it and charge it in the soul circle.

Ray Gun Mark II-Z

Shotgun, purple. A scatter shot that goes through several zombies at short range. Pack-a-Punched, it becomes Porter’s Mark II-Z2 Ray Gun and fires much faster.

  1. With a Fire Bomb weapon, shoot the cabinet that gives off an orange gas: in the kitchen of the Green House or of the Yellow House, or in the bunker. Take the canister.
  2. Purple smoke comes out of the chimney of one house. Throw a grenade onto the top of the chimney, or shoot the smoke with Fire Bomb, until a purple fire lights in the fireplace of that house.
  3. Place the canister in the fireplace and charge it in the soul circle.

Achievements

Three achievements of the map are about these guns: Experimental Prototype for building one, Ray Gun Bonanza for building all of them in a single game, and Ray-gnarok for stunning 10 zombies at once with the Mark II-V.

In the First Room

None of the variants can be built doors closed: the Assembly Kit, the frames and every canister are behind doors, and all of them need the Pack-a-Punch.
