Three pieces of equipment are also sold on the walls: the Explosive Drone in the Promenade and the Teleport Grenade in the Lounge, 750 points each, and the Contact Grenade in the Spa, 750 points the first time and 500 for each refill. Oz’s arena has a Contact Grenade wall of its own.

The 3D Printer

The 3D Printer is the Mystery Box of Exo Zombies: 1,000 points for a random weapon. Used enough times, it breaks down and another one switches on elsewhere, without taking the points. During a Power Surge every printer of the map is active and costs only 10 points.

Promenade

Between the waterfalls on the upper level. It is the starting spot.

Lounge

To the right of the door that leads underwater.

Galleria

Next to the Exo Suits.

Spa

In the “Trident’s Island” hut in the middle of the room.

Oz’s arena

Across from the Upgrade Station, only reachable when Oz brings the players there.

The printer of Descent holds these weapons, plus the CEL-3 Cauterizer and the two new weapons of the map, the KL03-Trident and the Blunderbuss:

KL03-Trident

The KL03-Trident, official render, Descent, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Zombies

KL03-Trident

A directed energy weapon shaped like a crossbow, new in Descent and only found in its 3D Printer. It fires semi-automatic bolts that bounce off the walls and hit the same zombies several times, so it is strongest in tight rooms or with the Open Fire power-up. A bolt in the head or the torso kills outright; elsewhere it leaves a crawler.

Ammunition

5 bolts in the magazine, 7 with Extended Mags, and 40 in reserve. Its two attachments are the Target Enhancer and Extended Mags.

The official advice

Sledgehammer Games’ tips for the map tell players to “take the Trident, no questions about it”, to shoot the walls and let the bolts find the zombies, and to make it the first weapon to upgrade.

The Trick Shot achievement asks for 100 kills on enemies behind the player with the KL03-Trident.

Blunderbuss

WeaponNote

The Blunderbuss is a single-shot, muzzle-loading shotgun that fires eighteen pellets and reloads in 4.5 seconds. It holds 1 shot and 50 in reserve, 75 once upgraded, and the Open Fire power-up does not spare it the reload. It kills in one shot up to about round 10. The official tips call it devastating but slow, best used as a second weapon with Exo Reload: fire, back off while reloading, and fire again. The Big Game achievement asks for a kill on Oz with it.

XS1 Goliath

The Goliath is a mechanized suit, new to Exo Zombies in Descent, that falls at random like an Orbital Care Package. Inside it, the player has a chain gun, rockets and homing missiles; the suit cannot dash sideways or backwards, can still sprint, and can use the teleporters. It lasts a limited time, then destroys itself without killing its pilot, and the jump button makes it self-destruct earlier. The official tips look for it on the roof above Exo Health, past the Galleria, or on the Landing. A Goliath is also needed in the main quest, to walk on the seabed.

Upgrade Stations

An MK14 on the Upgrade Station of Oz's arena during round 5, cost 2,500, Descent, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Zombies

Upgrading

Each use costs 2,500 points and raises a weapon one level, from Mk 2 up to Mk 20, with more damage, a refill and a new camouflage. The upgrade stays with the weapon even when it is bought again from a wall or the printer.

Locations

In the Galleria, between the stairs to the Exo Suits; in the Lounge, across from Exo Soldier; and in Oz’s arena, across from the 3D Printer.

The experimental station

A fourth station, in a room of the Tidal Generator, unlocks with the main quest and takes a Mk 20 weapon to Mk 25, with the Diamond camouflage.

Double Feature

In the hardcore mode an upgrade costs 1,500 points.

In the First Room

With the doors closed, the Landing offers the MK14 and the Bulldog only. The 3D Printer and the Upgrade Station of Oz’s arena are the only ones a First Room game can ever reach, during the visits Oz forces at rounds 5, 13 and 20.
