Upgraded Mystery Box

The Easter egg of Gröesten Haus in Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies, step by step: open the secret room, throw a Jack-in-the-Box into the rafters and pay 10,000 Jolts at the piano, and every weapon from the Mystery Box comes out upgraded.

An upgraded Mystery Box

Gröesten Haus has no Pack-a-Punch Machine. Its Easter egg upgrades the Mystery Box instead: once it is done, every weapon drawn from the box comes out already upgraded. The steps work in solo and in co-op, but not in the Prologue.

Steps

  1. Open the secret room: shoot the ten lanterns to open the two doors of the Mystery Box room, upstairs.
  2. Draw a Jack-in-the-Box from the Mystery Box. It is random, but it usually comes within the first few draws, and almost always within the first ten.
  3. Throw it into the rafters: in the room outside the secret room, face the window at the top of the stairs and look up at the central beam with the hanging lantern. The Jack-in-the-Box must land at the end of that beam, where it meets the wall on the left. A hidden symbol marks the spot.
  4. Pay at the piano: with 10,000 Jolts, hold the interact button at the piano in front of the secret room. No prompt appears; the Jolts simply disappear from the score.

The beams under the roof outside the secret room, above the top of the stairs. A Jack-in-the-Box that lands in the right place stays there.

In the room in front of the secret room. It takes the 10,000 Jolts without any message.

The reward

From then on, every weapon drawn from the Mystery Box is upgraded, as if it had been through the Pack-a-Punch of the other maps, and a draw still costs 1,000 Jolts. A Max Ammo refills the upgraded weapons.

PowerPyx estimates that the Easter egg takes until about wave 8. In the comments of that guide, several players reported that the piano refused their Jolts when the Jack-in-the-Box had landed on the beam but not on the exact spot; throwing another one fixes it.

On ZFRR

The Easter egg needs the secret room, which the Gröesten Haus leaderboard does not allow to open. It cannot be done in a record game.
