MEAT IS MURDER, the main quest

The main Easter egg of Infection brings Bubby, the animatronic mascot of Burger Town, to life. It can be done solo or in co-op, and it needs the Exo Suit, the Magnetron and the Insta-Gator. It earns the hidden achievement MEAT IS MURDER.

Bubby

The Burger Town mascot, “murderbot” in the game files. He stands at the restaurant and takes the burger and the battery of the quest.

Step 1: the golden skillet and the altar

  1. In Hoard More, a golden skillet hangs from a metal beam under the roof. Reach it with an Exo Suit jump and pick it up.
  2. In the Sewers, turn four valves on the pipes. Their places change from game to game, and each one turned makes the next appear. Once the four are turned, the characters say the air has gone cold.
  3. The waterfall of the Sewers now opens on a hidden room with an altar. Place the skillet on it; the altar sinks into the ground.
  4. Kill zombies next to it so that their blood fills the altar. When it is full, the altar rises and the skillet can be taken back.

Step 2: the burger

  1. In the kitchen of Burger Town, put the skillet on the stove.
  2. Find four chunks of meat, one each in Burger Town, Atlas Command, Value Voltage and the Sewers; their spots change each game. A player can carry only one at a time. Put them in the skillet.
  3. Cook the meat with the Magnetron, from the 3D Printer, until a “ding” is heard and smoke rises.
  4. Kill zombies until one in a Burger Town uniform drops a bun. Pick it up quickly, since it disappears, and bring it to the skillet.
  5. Make the burger and take it. It is contaminated: the player who holds it is infected and must use the Decontamination Zone of The Pit.
  6. Give the burger to Bubby. He gives a thumbs up and says his battery needs replacing.

Step 3: the battery

  1. Interact with a screen showing a diagram of Bubby. A countdown starts.
  2. Before it ends, take the battery from a compartment in the wall of a nearby building.
  3. At the Value Voltage gas station, plug the battery into a pump and defend it while it charges. A zombie hit or a stray bullet knocks it out, and it must be put back.
  4. When the pump lights up, take the charged battery to Bubby. He gives a white key.

The giant burger

The white key opens a hatch under the giant burger at the entrance of Burger Town. Inside are a secret Upgrade Station, which takes a weapon to Mk 25, and a computer that answers “Access Denied”.

Step 4: the hand and the rocket

  1. In The Pit, start the Insta-Gator trap. When an alligator snatches a zombie, shoot it so that it explodes, and pick up the hand it leaves before it sinks.
  2. Bring the hand to the hand scanner of the spawn area, upstairs in Hoard More. A panel opens on a red datapad.
  3. Take the datapad to the computer in the giant burger. The screen shows the diagram of Bubby and pushes the player out.
  4. The burger throws out burger bombs that can be thrown at the zombies, then a countdown runs and a rocket takes off from the burger.
  5. Go back inside and take the datapad, now green, to Bubby.

The alligator trap of The Pit, 500 points a use.

The reward

Bubby’s fate

Either explodes at once and drops four random power-ups, or his eyes turn red, he picks up his sign and fights at the players’ side for a round, then breakdances and explodes, dropping four power-ups.

The achievement

MEAT IS MURDER, 50 Gamerscore, a silver trophy.

The Upgrade Station

The secret Upgrade Station inside the giant burger stays open.

In the First Room

None of this can be done doors closed. The skillet hangs in Hoard More and the hand scanner is in the spawn area, but the skillet needs an Exo Suit, and the suits, the altar, the stove and Bubby are all behind the doors.
