Firebase Z: Secrets

Lost

On Firebase Z, three cassette tapes play Lost, a song written by Craig Houston, arranged by Kevin Sherwood and James McCawley, and sung by Julie Nathanson, the voice of Samantha Maxis. It tells her time in the Dark Aether. The tapes:

Scientist Quarters

On a wooden shelf by the stairs that go down to the Arsenal.

Equipment Storage

On a shelf to the left of the locked metal cabinet.

Motor Pool Office

On the floor between a desk and a green filing cabinet.

The bunny of the Atrium

Turn on the three Aether Reactors, then go back to the village.
On the second floor of the Atrium, a stuffed bunny sits at the end of a blocked balcony facing the Courtyard. Stare at it for a few seconds.
The bunny flies at the player, who is frozen and sent to a dark forest.
Find the pink glowing bunny in the distance and shoot it; it teleports away. Shoot it three times in all.
The third shot brings a crate full of rewards, always with a Juggernog.

The Colonel’s safe

A zombie head can appear in several places of the map; pick it up.
Place it on an empty testing stand of the Field Hospital.
Trap any zombie in an Essence Trap and link the trap to the stand. The head comes back to life, speaks a series of numbers and explodes.
Those numbers open the safe in Kravchenko’s office: it gives a perk and a piece of intel, and releases a pack of Hellhounds.

The dance pads

With the three reactors restored, a green button glows on one of the Jump Pads. Shooting it turns the pad into a dance pad: five arrows appear on its screen, to follow without leaving the pad. Success launches the player, and one of the two landing pads then shows the green button. Done on all six pads, every jump is free for the rest of the game. After a mistake, the next try waits for the next round.

The Monkey Bomb

Fifty kills with Monkey Bombs in the Data Center, Mission Control or Military Command upgrade them until the player dies or exfils: the bomb sends out a red pulse, plays another song and does more damage, and the zombies dance around it.

Exfil

As on every Cold War map, the team can call an exfil to leave the game alive and keep its rewards.

Raptor-1

The helicopter of Requiem, which lands next to Ravenov’s vehicle outside the village in the ending.

In the First Room

Every one of these secrets needs the reactors or a place past the teleporter, so none of them can be done doors closed.
