The rebuilt Pack-a-Punch Machine against the back wall of the Temple, a bull skull hanging above it, The Archon, Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies

The Archon:

A broken machine

On The Archon, the Pack-a-Punch stands in the Temple, where every game starts, but it is broken. From the first seconds, two objective markers point to its missing parts. Von List mocks the players: «Good luck surviving without your Pack-a-Punch machine.»

Ghostly outline

Until it is rebuilt, the machine is only a blue, ghostly shape against the back wall of the Temple.

The ritual

  1. Pick up the two parts, in any order.
  2. Bring them back to the Temple and hold the interact button on the broken machine. The ritual starts.
  3. The ghostly zombies and Sturmkriegers around the area turn into real enemies. Kill them near the machine: it acts as a soul box and collects their souls.
  4. Once it is full, the screen flashes white and the Pack-a-Punch is available for the rest of the game.

Ritual barriers

The barriers of the map tied to the ritual open once the machine works.

The Relic Mirror and the main quest

When the ritual ends, a stone appears in front of the Pack-a-Punch. Placing the Relic Mirror on it starts the main quest: Kortifex appears in front of the players, freed from Von List, then a red portal to the Dark Aether opens next to the machine.

The portal

On the left of the stone when facing the Pack-a-Punch. It is used twice: once to follow Kortifex, then for the final battle.

In the First Room

Doors closed, the two parts stay out of reach, so the machine stays a ghostly outline for the whole game and its ritual never starts. The ghostly zombies keep wandering around the Temple without ever turning real.
