Firebase Z: RAI K-84

The wonder weapon

The Reactorniy Avtomat-Izluchatel Kuhlklay-84, the RAI K-84, is the wonder weapon of Firebase Z. Dr. Dimitri Kuhlklay of Omega Group made it on April 8, 1984 from a heavily modified AK-74, to impress his superior Dr. Peck; unimpressed, Peck ignored it, and Kuhlklay hid its parts around the base.

Fully automatic energy bolts, 30 rounds in the magazine and 270 in reserve.

GP-6K2

The underbarrel launcher. Each shot costs 10 rounds and fires a purple orb that slows the zombies inside it; shot enough times by the main barrel while zombies are in it, the orb explodes.

Discordian Disruptor

The Pack-a-Punched version, 50 rounds and 300 in reserve, with red bolts. Its launcher becomes the Discordian Harmonizer.

There are three ways to get it: the Mystery Box, for 950 points a spin, a legendary reward of the Trials at the Helipad, or the hidden quest below, which gives it for free.

Building it

The blueprint: in the Weapon Lab, take the blueprint from the wall above a workbench. Ravenov tells the story of Kuhlklay.
The eye: at Scorched Defense, the zombified Kuhlklay lies against a burning vehicle. Rip out his left eye, then put it in the retina scanner of his computer in the Weapon Lab. A drawer opens on a locker key.
The barrel: open the lockers of the two Barracks past the Helipad with the key until a Mimic jumps out. Killing it drops the Barrel Assembly; if not, keep opening lockers.
The converter: the computer next to the scanner shows a dial that stops on three sectors. Shoot the same three sectors on the dart board next to Der Wunderfizz in the village, then its center. A hidden drawer gives the Aetherium Converter.
The power cell: destroy the arm cannon of a Mangler while it charges a shot. It drops an Uncharged Power Cell; place it in the charger to the right of the Arsenal of the Weapon Lab and wait a couple of rounds for it to charge.
Assembly: build the RAI K-84 at the workbench to the left of Kuhlklay’s computer.

In the First Room

The quest is played past the teleporter, so doors closed the only way to the RAI K-84 is the Mystery Box of the village. The rule of the ZFRR boards also forbids duplicating a wonder weapon.

Trivia

According to its blueprint in the intel, the design is partly inspired by the “Generator Khaosa Zavoyski-45”, the GKZ-45 Mk3 of Gorod Krovi, which in this timeline was never produced.
On Mauer der Toten, Peck claims he built it himself.
