The Ripsaw lying on its assembly table, The Darkest Shore, Call of Duty WWII Zombies

The Darkest Shore:
Ripsaw

The Ripsaw

The Ripsaw is the wonder weapon of The Darkest Shore: a buzzsaw fixed on the frame of one of the team’s Tesla Guns, ruined when their crate fell overboard during the landing. It is built on the map, and later maps only offer it in the Mystery Box.

The R.I.P. Saw, the upgraded Ripsaw, on a table, The Darkest Shore, Call of Duty WWII Zombies

R.I.P. Saw

The Ubersprengen version: stronger blades and more of them, and blades refilled at the machine.

Melee

The first version only swings and bashes. Its heavy attack is a charge, like a bayonet charge, that leaves the player open during the move.

Saw blades

Once upgraded, it fires a blade that ricochets and goes through the zombies, but has to be reloaded after every shot.

Building it

The Ripsaw needs the power, since its blade lies behind the doors of Bunker 3.

  1. Pick up the saw blade on a corpse in Bunker 3, to the right of the MP-40 weapon locker and to the left of the Ubersprengen panel.
  2. Pick up the handle in the Artillery Bunker. It lies in one of three spots: on a table to the right of the BAR, on a bunk next to the power switch, or on a table to the right of Faustblitz.
  3. Bring both parts to the assembly table in the hallway between the U-Boat Pens and the Bluffs.
  4. Take the Ripsaw for 2,500 Jolts.

The saw blade

Notebook: « The latest in German manufacturing, these hardened-steel saw blades tipped in tungsten carbide are the tools preferred by Straub to modify his soldiers. »

The handle

Notebook: the Tesla weapons were ruined in the landing, but « the gunstocks, however, might be salvageable. »

Firing blades

  1. With the Ripsaw, charge a zombie with the heavy attack, then press the interact button during the kill to tear out its spine.
  2. Look at the battery on the spine: only a glowing one is charged. The charge fades over time, as shown by a bar next to the Blitz icons. Spines of Pests, Wüstlings and Meuchlers are almost always charged.
  3. Put the charged spine into the Ripsaw on the assembly table.
  4. Kill zombies near the table until the battery is charged: about twenty kills according to one source, twenty-five according to another.
  5. Take the upgraded Ripsaw for 500 Jolts, or 3,000 if the first version was never bought.

The R.I.P. Saw

The last upgrade is tied to the coastal gun of the Artillery Bunker, so it comes with the main quest.

  1. Find six broken Enigma dial machines around the map. Each one shows a single dial, and the place of the dial on the machine gives its place in a six-character code. The first and fourth dials show a + or a -, the others a number.
  2. Get the coastal gun ready: escort the friendly Bomber of the main quest to the Artillery Bunker, then charge its battery by killing zombies nearby.
  3. Set the gun to the code: the left panel changes the elevation, the right panel the angle, and the button between them fires.
  4. A fuse drops from the barrel onto the concrete pillar under the gun. Take it to the Ubersprengen, which then upgrades the Ripsaw for 5,000 Jolts.
