The robot in the Safe House

In the CIA Safe House under Mauer der Toten, at the end of the Maintenance Tunnel, a Requiem robot sits chained to a chair. The intel of the map tells why: sent to Berlin by the Director of Requiem, Klaus killed the three agents of the safe house. He is missing his hands and his battery.

Deactivated, chained, his hands gone.

Rebuilding Klaus

It needs the power and the Pack-a-Punch first:

  1. Brain Rot: put the Brain Rot ammo mod on a weapon at the Pack-a-Punch.
  2. The hands: in Hotel Room 305, turn a zombie with Brain Rot next to the barricaded door. The turned zombie tears down the barricade. Inside, take the robotic hands from the neck of the corpse of Agent Jack, on the bed.
  3. The battery: kill a Krasny Soldat, which usually appears from round 10; the first one killed drops it.
  4. Klaus: in the Safe House, install the hands and the battery. Klaus breaks his chains.

Using Klaus

Fighting and reviving

Klaus follows the player, kills zombies with his XM4 and revives a player who goes down near him.

The remote control

The player who wakes Klaus gets the Klaus Remote Control in place of their tactical equipment, to send him to a chosen place.

Recharging

After a round he goes back to his chair to recharge. Once charged, he can be woken again for 2000 Essence, at the Safe House or at one of three radios: in the Military Tent, on the Korber Rooftop and in the West Berlin Street.

The three upgrades

  1. The dish: search the debris piles of the Death Strip until one gives a satellite dish, and attach it to the empty Upgrade Station of the Garment Factory.
  2. The first upgrade: let Klaus kill about 45 zombies, until the monitor of the station turns green. Send him into the station and defend it until the timer runs out: his XM4 gets its first Pack-a-Punch tier.
  3. The blacklight: send Klaus to the locker of the Switch Control Room. He opens it, and the player takes a blacklight for their weapon.
  4. The disks: six electrical boxes stand in the 5th Floor Apartments, the Hotel Lounge, the Ghost Station, the Maintenance Tunnel, the West Berlin Street and the Blasted Suite. Under the blacklight, two of them show the symbol of Klaus: send him to each to open it and take a Cosmetic Disk.
  5. The last two upgrades: send Klaus back into the station and insert a disk; he gets a new outfit and his XM4 a further Pack-a-Punch tier. Do the same with the second disk.

The Hacking Helm, a fourth piece for Klaus, belongs to the main quest.
