The First Room

On ZFRR, the First Room of Mauer der Toten is the starting area the game calls the 5th Floor Apartments: the Apartment Rooftop where the Requiem agents are dropped at the start of every game, and the hallway and two flats of the top floor below it. Each player starts with 500 Essence and the weapon of their own loadout, so a First Room run here does not depend on a wall weapon.
The way out is not a door but a zipline: the game sells each one as a «Locked Door», and opening it shows «Opened door to…» like any other door. There are two, one on the roof and one in Apartment 503, and a First Room game never opens either.
The rooftop zipline
Next to a glowing arrow, it crosses the street to the Destroyed Penthouse. It costs 750 Essence in co-op; no source gives its solo price.
The roof
An Ammo Crate, rubble, fires and an antenna tower, with a view over the Korber and Der Dozent signs. Pieces of the caved-in roof lead down into the hallway.
The hallway
The Diamatti on the wall and a Crafting Table, with broken walls into two flats, 501 and 503.
Apartment 503
Tombstone Soda in the kitchen, the second zipline, to Hotel Room 301, and a view down to the street.
Apartment 501
A rappel line that only works with the power, so it stays dead in a First Room game.

Diamatti
750 Essence, an Uncommon burst pistol, the only wall weapon of the First Room.
Tombstone in the First Room
The only perk machine reachable doors closed. In Black Ops Cold War it no longer drops a tombstone: a player who goes down turns into a shadow in the Dark Aether and can bring themselves back. Like every perk of the game, it costs 2500 Essence as a first perk. Quick Revive is in the Destroyed Penthouse, out of reach.
The Crafting Table
It sells armor and equipment for Salvage. It also sells the support items, which the No Support board forbids.
The Mystery Box
The official guide of Treyarch says it can appear next to the rooftop zipline; the Call of Duty Wiki does not list that spot.
No power, no Pack-a-Punch
Both are on the other side of the map, so the game is played with the starting weapon, the Diamatti, Tombstone and the Crafting Table.
The enemies
Zombies, then Armored Zombies from round 10 and Heavy Zombies from round 20. The Tormentors, the special enemy of the map, start at round 15 according to the Call of Duty Wiki. The Disciples are first met at the Pack-a-Punch.
The Mauer der Toten leaderboard keeps separate boards for solo and for two, three and four players, in two categories: No Support, the reference, and With Support. Only No Support counts in the No Support ranking, in solo and with two players. Its rules:
Doors closed
Reach the highest round you can without opening any door. The two ziplines of the apartments are sold as doors, so they stay closed.
Full rounds
Every round must be played in full, and glitches and exploits are not allowed.
Support
In No Support, no support item may be used at any point of the game: the scorestreaks, such as the Sentry Turret, the Chopper Gunner or the War Machine. In With Support, every one of them is allowed.
Outbreak range
Loading into Outbreak first to get the extended interaction range is allowed in both categories.
Wonder weapons
Duplicating a wonder weapon is not allowed.
Video
The whole game must be recorded, with the health, the points and the round counter never covered and the game audio heard. In No Support co-op, every player’s point of view is required.
Where to post it
A Twitch video must be saved as a highlight, since past broadcasts are not accepted; a YouTube video must be public or unlisted, and a run whose video is removed or made private leaves the board.
Black Ops Cold War counts its rounds differently from the older games: the zombies stop gaining health after round 55. The Black Ops Cold War rounds article explains what a round of Mauer der Toten is worth next to a round of the classic maps.
