Mauer der Toten: Power and Pack-a-Punch

The way to the power

On Mauer der Toten, the power switch is in the Power Room, under the streets, past the Ghost Station. The official guide of Treyarch counts at least 5,000 Essence of doors and ziplines to reach it from the start. The path:

Leave the 5th Floor Apartments by one of the two ziplines: the one on the roof to the Destroyed Penthouse, or the one in Apartment 503 to Hotel Room 301.
Reach the Garment Factory, by the zipline of the Penthouse or through the double doors of the hotel, then open its gated door to go down to the Alley and the East Berlin Streets.
Go underground, by the manhole near the Alley to the Service Passage, or by the U-Bahn entrance next to the triage tent to the north end of the Ghost Station.
Cross the tracks and open either the gate to the Switch Control Room and the Maintenance Tunnel, or the gates to the Sewer Access. Both lead to a last gate into the Power Room.

The two fuses

The first time the switch on the central control box is pulled, the fuses burn out and the power stays off. Two Tempests carry the new ones:

The Electronics Store

A Tempest comes out of the side room with the Arsenal, at street level. Destroy it and pick up the part it drops.

The underground

The second Tempest waits either in the Switch Control Room or in the Sewer Access.

The switch

With both parts, go back to the Power Room, place them in the box and pull the switch again. The power turns on.

The Power Room also holds a Crafting Table, the Milano 821 for 2250 and the Elemental Pop machine. With the power, every rappel line of the map opens, among them one at the end of the Sewer Access and one in the Safe House, which both climb to West Berlin.

The Pack-a-Punch

From West Berlin, the players cross the wreckage into the Death Strip of Checkpoint Charlie. Between two watchtowers, a circle of undead floats over the street around the Pack-a-Punch Machine, which glows red. Up close, it reads «Locked Pack-a-Punch» and asks the players to «Confront the Dark Aether to prove you are worthy».

It stays sealed until the ritual is broken.

The Disciple

Confronting the ritual brings out the first Disciple of the game, a mini-boss with its escort of enhanced zombies. Killing it unseals the Pack-a-Punch for the rest of the game.

The watchtowers

One tower holds an Ammo Crate, the other the QBZ-83. For some Essence, each tower can be overridden so that its guns target the zombies instead of the players.

The way back

A pile of wreckage can be destroyed for some Essence to drop the players back on the East Berlin Streets.

In the First Room

Doors closed, none of this is reachable: the Power Room is deep under the streets and the Pack-a-Punch on the other side of the Wall. A First Room game is played without the power and without any upgrade of the Pack-a-Punch.
