The wonder weapon

The Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23, the Jet Gun of TranZit, is the wonder weapon of Liberty Falls. In the story of the map it began as a whiskey still designed by Pericles Panos and Tommy-Joe, two lovers of bourbon; when the outbreak started, Panos sent his friend the plans to turn it into a weapon, and Tommy-Joe was killed before he could finish it. Its description in the game: “The brainchild of a scientist and a moonshiner, the Thrustodyne Model 23 sucks up your troubles and splits out carnage confetti.”

Primary fire

The turbine sucks the zombies in and shreds them, killing most of them at once; Manglers and Abominations take longer. It also pulls power-ups, Salvage and loot towards the player. It uses no ammo but heats up, and an overheated Jet Gun stops until it cools down, without exploding as in TranZit.

Secondary fire

After a short charge, a fiery blast all around the player that empties the gauge and leaves the weapon overheated. It kills most zombies and Vermin, kills or stuns Manglers and Abominations, strips armor and can destroy the heads of an Abomination.

The Jet Gun can come out of the Mystery Box for 950 Essence or from the S.A.M. Trials, or be built for free. It is needed for the main quest, and its primary fire picks up the figures of Aetherella.

Building it

The workbench is in Room 202 of the Motor Lodge, upstairs in the First Room: the door bursts open as a player comes near, and zombies rush out. The turbine is already on the bench; three parts are missing, all beyond the barricades.

The plans

Water Pressure Gauge

Behind a panel on the lanes of Fuller’s Liberty Lanes. Take the spare water valve from the tap in front of Lily’s Flowerpot, the florist of Washington Ave., put it on the pipes and raise the pressure by hand while zombies attack; they give only a tenth of the usual Essence. The gauge flies off when the pressure is high enough.

Handbrake

Kill the “Groundskeeper”, a named zombie who appears in the cemetery during a round, for the Toolshed Key, then open the shed at the back of the Groundskeeper’s Yard.

Electrical Wires

In the Radio House on Riverside, whose door is chained. A Mangler’s cannon breaks it: a Mangler’s shot lured onto the door, a Mutant Injection or the Mangler Cannon. Inside, piles of junk give Salvage, a Vermin or the wires.

With the three parts, the bench in Room 202 builds a free Thrustodyne for the player to take.
