Zombies First Room Rankings

What is ZFRR?

ZFRR is the home of Call of Duty Zombies First Room world records. Every First Room of World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops II, Black Ops III and Black Ops 4 has its leaderboard here, from solo to four players, every record is backed by its video, and every player is ranked. It started ten years ago on a spreadsheet. Today it is the reference of the discipline.

  • 3,851 players
  • 8,928 records
  • 70 nations
  • 67 First Rooms
  • 9 rankings
  • 775 speedruns

The First Room, explained

Call of Duty Zombies is a survival mode: waves of zombies, one round after another, until you go down. Most players open doors, buy their way across the map and build a strategy around it. A First Room run does the opposite. You never leave the room you spawn in: no door, no Pack-a-Punch, no train around the map. Only the starting weapons, the wall buys within reach and the few metres of the spawn.

That constraint is what makes it a discipline. Every map has a different room, and some are brutal: on Verrückt or Mob of the Dead, reaching round 30 is already rare. Every round is earned, every mistake ends the run, and a record can stand for years. ZFRR exists to track those runs, compare them fairly from one map to another, and keep the history of who pushed each room the furthest.

Our story

  1. Ten years ago

    It started on Google Sheets

ZFRR was born about ten years ago as a set of leaderboards on Google Sheets, made by Zenii and Flo. One sheet per map, the best rounds of the community written down by hand, each one checked against its video. There was no other place to see who held the First Room record on a given map.

  2. The same years

    The ranking algorithm

Leaderboards told who was best on one map. They could not say who was best overall: a round 40 on Verrückt is worth far more than a round 40 on Town. So the ranking algorithm was invented, still on the spreadsheets. Every board got a difficulty coefficient, a run became worth its round multiplied by that coefficient, and points added up across maps. The first rankings were built on the record leaderboards, in solo and two players, then the players took them over: new maps, new rankings, three and four-player boards.

  3. Two years ago

    The first website

As the sheets grew to thousands of records, they became hard to read and harder to keep. The first version of the ZFRR website went online two years ago: the rankings and their records, in one place, readable by anyone.

  4. September 10, 2026

    ZFRR 3.0

ZFRR 3.0 is the site as it is today, rebuilt from the ground up and fully operational: a leaderboard for every map, player pages and ratings, speedruns, the Hub, World at War and Black Ops 4, seasons, the Hall of Fame, and a new update almost every day since. Every change is listed on the Updates page.

Everything on ZFRR

Rankings Points rankings built on the First Room boards: the hardest maps, high rounds, every game and every team size, recalculated live with filters and seasons. Leaderboards One page per First Room: the world record, every run below it from solo to four players, the rules of the board and the video of each record. Zombies World Records Every world record standing today, map by map, with who holds it and since when. Hardest First Rooms The First Rooms sorted by their difficulty coefficient, solo and two players, read from the data rather than from opinion. Speedruns Speedrun boards for each map and round tier, fastest first, with the video behind every time. Players and ratings Every ranked player, their rating out of 100 overall and per game, the country ranking, and the board as it stood at the end of any past season. Hall of Fame The legends of First Room, the pioneers and the players who ruled their era, each with their story. The Hub A wiki for every map and game: the First Room, the strategies, the history, and the records standing on it. Image Hub A gallery of every map, its First Room and its key spots, free to browse. Recent records and speedruns Every new record and speedrun as it is added, with the places it gained. ZFRR TV and stream overlay Live First Room runs on Twitch and YouTube in one place, and an overlay streamers can put on their own runs. Tools Calculators and references built for runners: grenade rounds, Shangri-La pre-flops, jump distance by framerate.

How the rankings work

Every map, at every player count, has a difficulty coefficient out of 10. It is read from what players actually reach on that board, not voted. A run is worth its round multiplied by that coefficient, and a ranking adds up the points of a player across its maps. Filters let you recalculate any ranking on a game, a map or a country, and the season filter shows it as it stood at the end of any past year.

On top of the rankings, every player has a rating out of 100, overall and for each game. It measures level rather than volume: how close your runs come to the world records, on how hard a board, with the solo counting the most. Black Ops and Black Ops II, the pioneer games of First Room, are the reference.

Today's rankings

Every record, verified

A record only goes live on ZFRR with the video of the run. It is checked against the rules of its board: the game version allowed, the platform, what can be bought, what cannot be used. On Black Ops III, for example, every First Room record is played without GobbleGum. Each board shows its rules, and each record opens its video in one click.

Records come from the community: players send them through the Submit a record form, and every leaderboard is checked every day so that nothing is missing. When a record is beaten, the older run stays in the history of the player.

Frequently asked questions

What does ZFRR stand for?

ZFRR stands for Zombies First Room Rankings. It is the reference site for First Room world records, leaderboards and rankings on Call of Duty Zombies.

What is a First Room run in Call of Duty Zombies?

A First Room run means surviving as many rounds as possible without leaving the starting room: no door opened, no Pack-a-Punch, no train around the map. Everything is earned with the weapons and the space of the spawn room, which makes every round count.

Which games are covered?

World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops II, Black Ops III and Black Ops 4, from solo to four players, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Plutonium. Each map has its own leaderboard and its own rules.

How are players ranked?

Every map and player count has a difficulty coefficient. A run is worth its round multiplied by that coefficient, so a round 40 on Verrückt is not worth a round 40 on Town. Points add up across the maps of a ranking, and every player also gets a rating out of 100 that measures their level.

How do I submit a record?

Send it through the Submit a record form with the video of the full run. Every record on ZFRR is backed by its video and checked against the rules of its board before it goes live.

Is ZFRR free?

Yes. ZFRR is free for everyone and run by members of the First Room community. Players who want to help can support the project.

Your run belongs here
