The weapon

The Wunderbuss is the wonder weapon of The Shadowed Throne, a blunderbuss rebuilt with Geistkraft circuits. It is one of the prototypes of Heinz Richter that the Smuggler stole to sell on the black market, and he left it unfinished in his workshop for lack of parts.

Beam

The main fire sends out a beam of Geistkraft energy, up to 100 rounds of charge.

Siphon bolts

Aiming fires a single Geistbolt that sticks to a zombie, drains its Geistkraft and adds it to the beam. The player moves slower while it drains. A zombie hit by several bolts dies.

In the quest

Its beam opens the Ubersprengen, the cash register of the workshop and the projector of the Cabaret, overloads the tethers of the zeppelin and stuns the Stadtjäger in the last phase of the fight.

The Geistbolt

The Geistbolt comes from a Gekocht, and the Gekochts only appear once Straub’s zeppelin is over the district:

  1. The code: on top of the radio of Main Street, on the raised area above the street, read the code of two letters and one number.
  2. The frequency: in the Church, find the red pin on the large map of Germany, then read the frequency for that place and that code on the chart next to it.
  3. The Red Army: tune the radio to that frequency. Mikhail Saburov answers and asks the team to lure the zeppelin.
  4. The flares: hit the lock of the crate of flares near the radio, then hit the crate again. The flares rise and the zeppelin comes, drops its tethers and starts turning zombies into Gekochts.
  5. The kill: kill a Gekocht with a melee attack. It leaves the Geistbolt.

A Gekocht explodes when it reaches a player, so it is best met with a melee weapon of reach, like the spiked bat of Main Street.

The battery

The battery lies on top of an empty weapon locker, at one of three places, drawn each game:

Museum, top floor

To the right of Faustblitz.

Museum, first floor

To the left of the Geistschild machine.

Cabaret

To the right of the M1928.

The workshop

The workshop is a caged room in the basement of the Apartments, between two gates.

  1. Use the device between the two gates with the battery: the workshop opens.
  2. Place the Geistbolt in the unfinished Wunderbuss on the workbench.
  3. Take the battery back from the door. The gates close and lock the player in.
  4. Put the battery in the Wunderbuss. It is finished, and every player can take one.
  5. Fire the beam into the control panel to overload it and open the gates again.

A finished Wunderbuss also waits on the zeppelin, to the right of the Resupply Package by the drop pod, for a player who bled out during the boss fight.

In the First Room

Every part of the Wunderbuss is behind the doors: the radio and the flares on Main Street, the map in the Church, the battery in the Museum or the Cabaret, the workshop in the Apartments. It never enters a First Room game, and neither does anything it opens.
