The first Perk-a-Colas

On Verrückt, Map Pack 1 of World at War brought the first Perk-a-Cola machines of Zombies: vending machines that sell a drink, and with it a lasting bonus. The four drinks are named after multiplayer perks of the game, and the official description sold them as “chemically engineered beverages”. A perk stays until the player goes down.

Every machine of Verrückt needs the power. The switch is in the Power Room, on the far side of the asylum, so the machines of the two starting rooms stay in sight and out of use for as long as the doors are closed. World at War only has these four perks, so there is no perk limit: a player can hold all four.

The four machines

Juggernog

2500 points. In the Juggernog side starting room, next to a bookshelf, in the small room of the Gewehr 43. Based on the Juggernaut perk of multiplayer.

The Quick Revive Perk-a-Cola machine, Verrückt, Call of Duty World at War Zombies

Quick Revive

1500 points. In the Quick Revive side starting room, near the door to the right hallway. Its color is light blue and its icon a grave with a man rising from it.

The Double Tap Root Beer Perk-a-Cola machine, Verrückt, Call of Duty World at War Zombies

Double Tap Root Beer

2000 points. On the left balcony, next to the MP40, in the hallway with the Bouncing Betties.

The Speed Cola Perk-a-Cola machine, Verrückt, Call of Duty World at War Zombies

Speed Cola

3000 points. In the right upstairs, the room between the right balcony and the kitchen, straight ahead when its door opens. Its bottles read “Sleight of Hand Soda”.

How they work on World at War

More health, faster healing

On the World at War versions of Verrückt and Shi No Numa, Juggernog raises the maximum health and heals 40 health every half second. A single zombie can hardly kill a player who has it, since it cannot hit fast enough to beat the healing; later maps simply raise the health to 250.

Faster revives

Quick Revive halves the time needed to revive a teammate. It has no effect on the player who drinks it, so it is useless in solo: the self-revive of solo games only came with Black Ops.

Faster fire

Double Tap Root Beer makes every weapon fire about 33% faster, bolt-action rifles, pump shotguns and the Ray Gun included.

Faster reloads

Speed Cola reloads faster. On PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 the hand drinking it is misaligned to the right when its icon appears.

In the First Room

Doors closed, the power never comes on, so a First Room game of World at War Verrückt is played without any perk, on both sides. The Black Ops remaster changed that for one side only: there, Quick Revive can be bought in solo without power for 500 points.
