Alistair's Folly, the wonder weapon of Dead of the Night: the free Folly from the Library safe and the spots of its four coloured symbols, then every step of the Chaos Theory and Alistair's Annihilator upgrades, from bile and bats to Prima Materia.
Alistair’s Folly is the main wonder weapon of Dead of the Night, built by Alistair Rhodes. It fires small green explosive rounds that do not hurt the user, and pushes the player back a little at each shot, like the Ray Gun. It holds 12 rounds in the chamber and 96 in reserve. It comes from the Mystery Box for 950 points, or for free from the safe of the Library.
Alistair’s Folly
The first stage of the weapon, here in the case of the Library.
Four coloured symbols are drawn around the map, each colour in its own area, and the symbols change every game. Once the four are known, the dials of the safe in the Library are set to the code, and the safe opens on a free Alistair’s Folly.
Red symbol
On the wall of the staircase between the East Gallery and the Main Hall, on a barrel behind a barrier of the Wine Cellar to the right of the MX9, on the wall next to the bed of the Master Bedroom, or behind the bar of the Dining Room.
Blue symbol
In the Cemetery, on a tombstone to the right of the right-hand stairs to the Mausoleum, on top of a smaller mausoleum, under the lion statue by the portal behind the Mausoleum, or on a stone coffin near the Stake Knife bench.
Green symbol
Behind a gate between the Greenhouse Laboratory and the stairs to the Dining Room, on the wall of a small round room in the Gardens, or behind one of the gates on each side of the Perk Altar of the Gardens.
Yellow symbol
On the Forest Terrace, behind vines to the left of the Bowie Knife, on the wall to the right of the GKS, or along the paths beside them.

Chaos Theory
The second stage adds a charged shot that uses three rounds: either a yellow pool of acid that stuns and confuses zombies before they explode, or a blue whirlwind that lifts them and spins them until they die.
In the Library, bash the bookshelf to the right of the Silver Bullet Dispenser with the Ballistic Shield. A secret room opens on a part of the Chaos Theory.
Kill a Werewolf with a gun loaded with Silver Bullets. It drops the Werewolf Chaos Material.
Put the material into the machine under the telescope of the Greenhouse Laboratory. It becomes Prima Materia.
Combine the Prima Materia and the part on the bench of the Greenhouse Laboratory to get the Chaos Theory.

Alistair’s Annihilator
The last stage keeps the acid and whirlwind shots and adds two charged shots: a green portal on the ground that shrinks the zombies out of existence, and a fireball that vaporizes the enemies around it. It gets its own scope and a purple light.
Kill Nosferatu with the charged whirlwind shot until three drops of bile are collected.
In the Cemetery, use the coffin lid glowing red. A Crimson Nosferatu comes out; killed, it drops the Nosferatu Chaos Material.
In the Forest, hit a zombie with the charged acid shot next to a pile of blue mushrooms: it digs the pile up before it dies. Repeat on other piles until a new part of the weapon is found.
At the Mausoleum, shoot the lantern of the railing that glows orange, then each new orange lantern in turn until a bat comes out. Shoot it down for the Bat Chaos Material. If a lantern is missed or the material falls out of reach, the lanterns can be tried again a few minutes later.
Turn the two new materials into Prima Materia under the telescope, then assemble Alistair’s Annihilator from the Chaos Theory on a bench of the Greenhouse Laboratory.
The Annihilator
The finished weapon waits on its crafting bench in the Greenhouse Laboratory.
The bat
It flies off the last lantern of the Mausoleum and drops the Bat Chaos Material when shot down.
Two achievements come with the weapon: Alchemical Opus, for creating Prima Materia three times, and Shrinking Feeling, for shrinking 15 zombies with a single shot of Alistair’s Annihilator. The Easter egg needs the Annihilator for two of its quest lines.
