The Vlad crossbow, third-person render, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Rave in the Redwoods:
Vlad

The Vlad, the crossbow wonder weapon of Rave in the Redwoods: the hot dogs, the three deer heads and the cabinet, then the animal statues that turn it into the Whirlwind EF-5, Trap-O-Matic, Acid Rain or Ben Franklin.

The Vlad

The Vlad, also called the Harpoon Gun, is the wonder weapon of Rave in the Redwoods: a crossbow whose bolt explodes on impact. A direct hit kills a zombie, and the blast keeps killing in one shot up to the late teen rounds. It has no iron sights, holds one bolt with 20 in reserve, and the reload can be started early by pressing reload right after the shot. It cannot be Pack-a-Punched: it is upgraded through the camp instead.

The Vlad crossbow, third-person render, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Vlad

Free, from the cabinet of the Bear Lodge.

How to get it

  1. Build the boat engine and ride to Turtle Island.
  2. In Kevin Smith’s cabin, take the hot dogs from a bucket at the door of the washroom. They are thrown with the tactical button and replace the tactical equipment.
  3. Back on the mainland, enter Rave Mode with a pouch and throw a hot dog at each of the three deer heads: in the Mess Hall, in the Bear Lodge above the Golf Club, and in the cabin at the Camper Cabins left of the Transponder challenge.
  4. Shoot each deer head once it floats in the air, and pick up the symbol that falls to the ground.
  5. With the three symbols, leave Rave Mode and break the locks of the cabinet in the lodge.

The four upgrades

Each upgrade follows the same pattern with a small animal statue, found at random on one of nine spots of the camp:

  1. Place the statue by the speakers of the Recreation Area.
  2. Damage zombies near it without killing them, until it has absorbed enough of them, then pick it up.
  3. Place it next to the big statues of its animal and kill about 20 zombies with the Vlad near them.
  4. Pick up the statue: the Vlad becomes the upgraded crossbow.
The Whirlwind EF-5 crossbow in first person, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Whirlwind EF-5

From the deer statue, charged at the big deer statues by the docks or by the gazebo above the lake. It fires a concussive blast of wind that kills several zombies at once.

The dual Trap-O-Matic crossbows in first person, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Trap-O-Matic

From the eagle statue, charged at the Thunderbird Amphitheater. Dual crossbows whose bolts become nodes; two close nodes draw a beam that kills every zombie crossing it.

Acid Rain

From the owl statue, charged at the Camper Cabins. An explosion, then acid rain over the area. Its kills count as headshots, worth 100 points each.

Ben Franklin

From the wolf statue, charged at the Camper Cabins. Lightning strikes where the bolt lands and kills the zombies around it, a nod to Benjamin Franklin and the lightning rod.

Getting all four upgrades completes one of the four photos of Scrapbooking, and 100 kills with an upgraded crossbow unlock Stick ’em.

In the First Room

The cabinet stands in the Bear Lodge, but the hot dogs are on Turtle Island and the deer heads are in other buildings, so the Vlad stays locked in a First Room game.
