The First Room

On ZFRR, the First Room of Blood of the Dead is Richtofen’s Laboratory, the secret lab hidden under Alcatraz where every game starts, together with Model Industries, the small room at the top of its staircase. The laboratory is a small rectangular room: on one side, four cryopods hold Misty, Stuhlinger, Russman and Marlton, frozen; at one end, a staircase climbs to Model Industries, which looks out over the San Francisco Bay. The players start with 500 points, the knife and the starting weapon of their loadout.
The way out is a door of Model Industries, sold for 500 points, which opens onto the West Grounds, the first outdoor area of the island. Another door, next to the barrier in the left corner of the laboratory, is not for sale: it only opens at the end of the main quest. In a First Room game both stay closed, so the power is never turned on.

Essex Model 07
500 points, on a wall of the laboratory. Pack-a-Punched, it would become the Quartermaster’s Repeater.

RK 7 Garrison
700 points, on a wall of Model Industries. Pack-a-Punched, it would become the Rapskallion 3D.
Those are the only two wall buys of the First Room. The zombies climb in through barriers, among them holes in the rock walls of the laboratory.

Cryopods
The four pods of Victis glow along one wall of the lab. A player who is Richtofen can talk with Stuhlinger through his pod during the main quest.

Barriers
An opening in the rock wall of the lab, which the players board up again between the attacks.

Walnut teleporter
A small teleport pad on a table carries a walnut. Interacting with it sends the walnut to another pad of the room; the same pad gives the free Monkey Bombs of a secret.
The map
A map of the island across from the cryopods, where the red stones of the main quest are placed.
No perk, no Box
The four perk machines and every Mystery Box spot are behind the door of Model Industries.
No Hellhound round
The Hellhounds only start to spawn once a player has gone through the Catwalk for the first time.
The Blood of the Dead leaderboard keeps separate boards for solo and for two, three and four players. Its reference category is Purist; seven others sit beside it, No Elixirs, then Classic Elixirs and All Elixirs on Normal, Hardcore and Realistic. The Purist rules:
Doors closed
Reach the highest round you can without opening any door or barrier.
Hardcore
The game is played on Hardcore difficulty, and Custom Mutations are not allowed.
Elixir loadout
No elixir or talisman may be used, but every player equips the same loadout: Aftertaste, Point Drops, Anti Entrapment, Newtonian Negation, Quacknarok and Arsenal Accelerator among the Classics, Conflagration Liquidation, Who’s Keeping Score, Extra Credit and Dividend Yield among the Megas.
Weapons
The starting weapon is the Welling or one of the two wall weapons, the RK 7 Garrison or the Essex Model 07. Only Frag Grenades and Acid Bombs are allowed, and no Specialist Weapon.
Full rounds
Every round is played in full. Glitches, exploits, duplicated weapons and going down on purpose to be revived are not allowed.
Video
The whole game is recorded, and the pregame lobby shows every player’s loadout. The health, the points, the round counter and the top right of the screen are never covered.
PC and split-screen
The Project-BO4 client is allowed, and nothing may be injected except fast restarts. Split-screen is allowed, bots are not.
