The First Room

The stone fireplace of the Bear Lodge at the start of a game, with a deer head above it and the boarded barrier to the Mess Hall on the right, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

On ZFRR, the First Room of Rave in the Redwoods is the ground floor of the Bear Lodge, the log cabin where the four actors land at the start of every game, together with its front porch. The players start with 500 points, frag grenades and bare fists: unlike Zombies in Spaceland, there is no starting gun on this map. The room makes up for it with four melee weapons that are free to pick up.

Two buyable barriers lead out of the lodge, both for 750 points: the boarded one next to the fireplace opens the path to the Mess Hall, and the one at the end of the front porch opens the path that splits towards the Thunderbird Amphitheater and the Trading Post. Three more doors of the lodge cannot be bought at all: the trapdoor to the basement, the door to Mule Munchies and the stairs to the second floor only open when the power is turned on, and the power switch is outside the First Room.

The Two-Headed Axe outlined against a stack of logs on the front porch of the Bear Lodge, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Two-Headed Axe

Free, leaning against a stack of logs on the front porch, a few steps from Up ‘N Atoms. Zombies hit by it are gibbed.

Machete

Free, at the far end of the front porch, by the barrier to the Thunderbird Amphitheater.

Spiked Bat

Free, inside the lodge, next to the M1 wall buy.

Golf Club

Free, inside the lodge, under a mounted deer head and next to the door to Mule Munchies.

M1

500 points, the only gun of the First Room, on the wall next to the Spiked Bat.

Each of the four melee weapons can be Pack-a-Punched, then upgraded a second time once the Alien Fuses are installed, but the Pack-a-Punch is on Turtle Island, out of reach doors closed.

The front porch

It holds Up ‘N Atoms, 500 points in solo and 1500 with other players, the Two-Headed Axe, the Machete and the barrier to the Thunderbird Amphitheater.

The front door of the Bear Lodge seen from inside, with the Lost and Found box on the right, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Lost and Found

A cardboard box by the front door, inside the lodge. It gives back the weapons of a player who bled out, for 2000 points, or for free in solo.

The fireplace

Zombies drop pouches; throwing one into a fire turns on Rave Mode for about a minute. The fireplace of the lodge is one of those fires, so Rave Mode is available doors closed.

The crossbow cabinet

Four Vlad crossbows wait behind locks on the ground floor, but the key to them starts on Turtle Island, so they stay locked in a First Room game.

Sasquatch scenes

About every four or five scenes, a scene of Sasquatches replaces the zombies. They swing their arms up close, throw rocks from afar and never explode.

The Slasher after scene 10

A player who stays in Rave Mode after scene 10 is stalked by the Slasher, who can down a player in one hit, even with Tuff ‘Nuff, and cannot be hurt during Rave Mode.

The Rave in the Redwoods leaderboard keeps separate boards for solo and for two, three and four players, in two categories: Fate Cards, the reference, and Fate & Fortune Cards. Its rules:

Doors closed

Reach the highest round you can without opening any door or barrier, and play every round in full.

Cards

In the Fate Cards category only Fate Cards may be used, and Irish Luck is not allowed; the Fate & Fortune Cards category allows any card.

No Director’s Cut

The Director’s Cut mode is not allowed in either category.

No one-window strategy

Holding the zombies at a single window is not allowed.

Upgraded melee weapon glitch

Unlike the other maps of Infinite Warfare, the board for this map allows the upgraded melee weapon glitch.

Fire button

Binding the fire button to the scroll wheel or to several keys is allowed.

Video

The whole game must be recorded, with clear proof of the category, such as the pre-game lobby, the lobby after the match or the pause screen. A Twitch video must be saved as a highlight, a YouTube video must be public.

Overview

Rave in the Redwoods is the second Zombies map of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, after Zombies in Spaceland, and the Zombies map of Sabotage, the first DLC pack of the game. The film director Willard Wyler, angry that the actors escaped his first film with a piece of the Soul Key, sends them into a 1990s slasher film set at Bear Lake Summer Camp, where zombie ravers have taken over the «Pushin’ up Daisies» rave. The director Kevin Smith plays himself as the guest star of the map. The game is described in its own Infinite Warfare book.

In the intro, Wyler bangs his fist on his projector, sure that «the Rave will surely end their silly little existences». The film opens on the rave, overrun by the undead, before the four actors appear through a portal inside a wooden cabin, in new 1990s outfits. The map is slightly larger than Zombies in Spaceland, and its tagline is «Back from the grave and ready to RAVE!».

Characters

The four actors of Zombies in Spaceland come back in new roles, each with an official biography for the map.

Official portrait of Andre Wright as the Grunge Rocker, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Andre Wright

The Grunge Rocker, voiced by Jay Pharoah. He would rather «shred a guitar» than rock the mic this time.

Official portrait of A.J. Jordaniels as the Hip-Hop Wannabe, holding an axe, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

A.J. Jordaniels

The Hip-Hop Wannabe, voiced by Ike Barinholtz, with bleached hair and a purple parka.

Official portrait of Sally Simpson as the Westside Gangsta, aiming a pistol, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Sally Simpson

The Westside Gangsta, voiced by Sasheer Zamata, who has traded her leg warmers for khakis and tattoos.

Official portrait of Poindexter Zittermann as the Kandi Raver, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Poindexter Zittermann

The Kandi Raver, voiced by Seth Green, with blue hair, a red visor and bead bracelets.

Official portrait of Kevin Smith holding a hockey stick, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Kevin Smith

The guest star, playing himself. Trapped in the film with his friend Jason Mewes, he hides in a cabin on Turtle Island. He becomes playable once the main Easter egg is done.

Willard Wyler is the announcer of the map, as in Zombies in Spaceland.

Enemies

The Slasher in Rave Mode with his glowing buzzsaw, official concept art, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

The Slasher

A masked killer with a buzzsaw, who appears when a player is in Rave Mode after scene 10. He moves fast, can kill a player in one hit and cannot be hurt during Rave Mode, except by the Smiley, his own weapon.

Zombies

The ravers and campers of Bear Lake, the common enemy of every scene.

Sasquatches

On their own scenes, about every four or five scenes, and never mixed with the zombies of a normal scene. They follow a player until they are killed, swing their arms up close and throw rocks from afar.

Skeletons

They rise from a grave near the Mess Hall when the Golden Shovel memento is used there, and replace the zombies during the boss fight of the main Easter egg.

The Super Slasher

The giant Slasher that Kevin Smith turns into at the end of the main Easter egg, fought on Turtle Island.

Rave Mode

Zombies drop pouches. A player holding one can throw it into one of the fire pits of the camp, or into the fireplace of the lodge, to enter Rave Mode for about a minute: the screen turns to neon colours, hidden paint and objects of interest light up on the zombies and the scenery, and the kills earn double points. Many secrets of the map can only be seen or used in Rave Mode. After scene 10, Rave Mode also brings the Slasher.

Traps

Besides the traps bought on the spot, the camp has souvenir totem poles: zombies drop gems, the counterpart of the souvenir coins of Zombies in Spaceland, and three gems placed in a totem pole make a trap.

The Wood Chipper trap at the Archery Range, priced at 750, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Wood Chipper

750 points, at the Archery Range. It sucks in and grinds the zombies that come near it.

The Log Swing trap hanging over a forest path, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Log Swing

On the path from the Mess Hall down to the Trading Post. A log swings back and forth and kills the zombies, the Sasquatches and the players in its way. Its price is given as 350 or 750 points depending on the source.

Waterfall

750 points, on the path from the lodge to the Mess Hall.

Feed the fish

750 points, on the floating platform off White Tail Beach. Piranhas kill every zombie in the water and hurt the players in it.

DJ booth

In the Recreation Area, it draws the zombies to the front of the booth, where the music kills them.

Power and the Pack-a-Punch

The power switch is a generator in the basement of the Bear Lodge, reached through the Old Marvin Mine. It powers the whole map at once and opens the three closed doors of the lodge.

  1. Turn on the power.
  2. Collect the three parts of the boat engine: in the Mess Hall, in the bunk room upstairs in the lodge and in the Recreation Area.
  3. Install them on the boat in the boat house at the Trading Post docks and ride it to Turtle Island.
  4. Pick up the two projector reels, one outside the boat house, one outside the back door of the cabin on Turtle Island.
  5. Load them on the projector in the cabin: a portal opens to the Pack-a-Punch room.

A first upgrade costs 5000 points. A computer of the lodge, used after the power is on, makes the Alien Fuses appear next to it a few rounds later; installed in the Pack-a-Punch, they allow a second upgrade for 10,000 points. Players who finished the Sooooul Key Easter egg of Zombies in Spaceland have the fuses in place from the start.

Easter egg: Locksmith

The main quest, Locksmith, has the actors help Kevin Smith remember what happened to him and his friend Jason Mewes, before he turns out to be the Slasher himself. It needs the power, the boat and the projector.

The four actors in their 1990s outfits holding the piece of the Soul Key, outro cinematic, Rave in the Redwoods, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

The reward

The second piece of the Soul Key, the Locksmith achievement, Kevin Smith as a playable character and the Smiley in the basement of the lodge.

Three rituals

Two halves of a torn photo and a skull are each placed at a ritual site and charged with kills, and each time the Slasher has to be killed outside Rave Mode.

The twist

On the boat to Turtle Island, Kevin remembers killing Jason and turns into the giant Slasher, stranding the actors on the island.

Locksmith, step by step

Secrets

Scrapbooking

A side quest: four photos to complete across the map and ten mementos, each with its own small quest. Its reward is an achievement, and each finished memento becomes a charm for a weapon.

Puppet Strings

The hidden song of the map, by Chris Egert with Nakia Harris and Nikko Dumas. Ten purple spots in the Bear Lodge, only visible in Rave Mode, must be shot; the song plays and the Rave On achievement unlocks.

Knife throwing

In the basement of the lodge, a wheel with a zombie strapped to it. Hitting its head with all six knives gives a Max Ammo, once per round.

Ghost ‘N Skulls 2

An arcade machine by the pool table, upstairs in the lodge.

Scrapbooking: the four photos and the ten mementos

Achievements

The map has ten achievements and trophies, worth 180 Gamerscore in all: eight bronze trophies of 15 and two silver ones of 30, for Tables Turned and Scrapbooking.
