The First Room

The platform of the first subway station, with the stopped subway car on the left and the staircase up to the turnstiles on the right, Shaolin Shuffle, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

On ZFRR, the First Room of Shaolin Shuffle is the first subway station, where the four actors start every game in a stopped subway car. Every player starts with 500 points and a Kendall 44 pistol. The station has two levels: the platform along the train, and a hall at the top of the stairs, behind the turnstiles.

The Hornet chalk outline on a tiled wall of the platform, next to a fire hose cabinet, with its 750-point price, Shaolin Shuffle, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Hornet

750 points, a pistol, on the wall at the end of the platform, next to the fire hose cabinet and the «To Street» sign.

The Banshee chalk outline on a wooden bench of the platform, with its 750-point price, Shaolin Shuffle, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Banshee

750 points, a pump-action sonic shotgun, lying on a wooden bench of the platform, under the graffiti, a few steps from Up ‘N Atoms.

Unlike Zombies in Spaceland and Rave in the Redwoods, the starting room has no M1 and no Hailstorm: the Hornet and the Banshee take their place, and both cost 750 points.

Up ‘N Atoms machine

500 points in solo, 1,500 in co-op, at the end of the platform, next to the boarded-up work area. It is the revive perk of Infinite Warfare: in solo it gives a self-revive, up to three in a game.

The Lost and Found cardboard box on the platform floor, next to a bin and the payphones, Shaolin Shuffle, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

Lost and Found

A cardboard box near the payphones at the far end of the platform, by the right staircase. After a player bleeds out, it gives back their weapons and equipment: free in solo, 2,000 points in co-op.

The station hall above the platform, with the ticket booth windows on the left and the 1,000-point debris barrier ahead, Shaolin Shuffle, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Zombies

The station hall

Up the stairs and through the turnstiles, the hall holds the ticket booth with the ATM of the bank and a pile of debris that blocks the way to the street, a barrier of 1,000 points. That barrier is the first door of the map, and it stays shut.

Power generator

A small box on a white pillar of the platform, near the stairs and Up ‘N Atoms. Until a player switches it on, the way up to the turnstiles stays locked and nobody can leave the platform. It is one of the four generators of the map and opens no door by itself: the hall it leads to still belongs to the station.

The door to the sewers

It opens off the platform but stays locked until all four power generators of the map run, so it never opens in a First Room game.

No Magic Wheel

One of the seven Wheel spots is in the hall, opposite the ticket booth, but the Wheel never starts there: it only moves when a spin elsewhere gives the plush doll, and a Fire Sale fills every spot for 30 seconds. A First Room game is played with the two walls.

No card refill

The only Fortune Teller of the map, which refills the card deck, is in the Heebie Geebies bar, behind the doors.

Skating Diva scenes

They have their own scenes, about one in five, when only they spawn; they glide in on roller skates and explode on contact. The last one of the scene drops a Max Ammo.

Ninja Zombies from scene 21

They appear in a cloud of smoke among the zombies. They hit very hard and teleport away when shot without dying.

Sake gourds stand all around the map, but they only refill a Shaolin style, and the styles are learnt from Pam Grier in the Black Cat Dojo, out of reach doors closed.

The Shaolin Shuffle leaderboard has two categories, each with boards for solo and for two, three and four players: Fate Cards only, the reference, and Fate & Fortune Cards. Its rules:

Doors closed

Reach the highest scene you can without opening any door or barrier, and play every round in full.

Fate Cards only

Only Fate cards are used. Fortune cards are not allowed, and neither is Irish Luck, the Fate card that spawns a random card. On the Fate & Fortune Cards board, any card is allowed.

Not allowed

One-window strategies, Director’s Cut, and glitches or exploits.

Allowed

Binding the shoot button to the scroll wheel or to several keys.

Video

The whole game is recorded, with a clear proof of the category: the pregame lobby, the after-match lobby or the pause screen.

Where to post it

A Twitch video must be saved as a highlight, since past broadcasts are not accepted; a YouTube video must be public.

Shaolin Shuffle is the third Zombies map of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, after Zombies in Spaceland and Rave in the Redwoods. It came with Continuum, the second DLC pack of the game. The director Willard Wyler sends the four actors into a new film, a kung fu horror story set in New York City in the 1970s, where every inhabitant has turned undead. Its tagline: «She’s the cat with the kung fu claws!»

After the Giant Slasher of Rave in the Redwoods, the actors are pulled into the next film with the second piece of the Soul Key. The intro shows newspapers about Arthur McIntosh, a businessman found guilty of stealing from hard-working people, then a man sobbing in the sewers who drinks a glowing green flask marked «13» and rises covered in rats: the Rat King, boss of the map.

The map runs from the subway to the uptown streets, the rooftops, the Heebie Geebies bar, the park, the Inferno Club, the Strip with the Pink Cat club, a second subway station and the sewers, where the Rat King has his lair. The four actors wear 1970s outfits, and each carries a New York State driver’s license on the screen.

Every weapon, its price and its place

Power and the Pack-a-Punch

The power comes from four generators, one in each quarter of the map: in the first subway station, near Deadeye Dewdrops, on the roof of the Inferno Club and in the second subway station. Once all four run, the sewers open, with Tuff ‘Nuff and the Rat King’s lair.

The Pack-a-Punch is not a machine on the street: it waits behind a projector in a back room of the Pink Cat, on the Strip. Three items open it: a Pink Cat flyer for the front doors, a token for the back room, found under the Tuff ‘Nuff machine, and a film reel for the projector, which opens a portal to the Pack-a-Punch. A second quest with Alien Fuses unlocks the double upgrade.

Shaolin styles

After the first Skating Diva scene, Pam Grier lets the actors drink from four sake gourds in the Black Cat Dojo, one per style of kung fu: Tiger, Crane, Dragon and Snake. A style turns the character into a weapon, with a one-hit melee strike, then shuriken, a Chi ability and an ultimate attack as it levels up. The styles also break the boarded doors and torii gates that act as shortcuts across the map.

Easter egg: Pest Control

The main quest, Pest Control, leads the actors and Pam Grier against the Rat King to recover the third piece of the Soul Key. It goes from caged rats and Ninja Zombies to Chinese symbols, a Morse code message, a rooftop cipher and three fights with the Rat King, each leaving an eye, a brain or a heart.
