The First Room

On ZFRR, the First Room of Ancient Evil is the Temple of Apollo, where the intro cinematic ends and every game begins. It is a long nave lined with red columns, braziers and banners, closed at the far end by a golden statue of Apollo. This is where the Oracle sits, bound to her chair behind a bowl, and where the Eternal Flame of the map burns. The players start with 500 points, the knife and the weapon, equipment and special weapon of their loadout.
The way out is blocked by debris. The pile that leads out to the Temple Terrace costs 500 points to clear; in a First Room game it stays where it is, and the zombies climb in through the barriers of the temple.

Strife
500 points, a pistol, on a wall of the temple.

Essex Model 07
500 points, a rifle, on a stone block by a column near the spawn. Ammo costs 250 points.
Those are the only two wall weapons of the temple. Besides them, the Welling revolver is the third starting weapon the ZFRR rules allow.
Tributes of the Oracle
Bound to her chair at the side of the nave, the Oracle gives the Tributes to Apollo, challenges paid in points whose rewards are collected from the pillars of the temple. Some rewards are a free perk or a packed weapon.
The Eternal Flame
The blue flame of the temple, relit through the Tributes. It sets the spear of Apollo’s Will on fire, a shield that cannot be built doors closed.
No perk
The four altars, Danu, Ra, Zeus and Odin, are all outside the temple.
No Mystery Box
None of its six spots is in the temple.
Special enemies
The Catalysts start to appear around round 8 and the Blightfathers from round 15, both tearing out of ordinary zombies. The Spartoi come with the Sentinel Artifact, and the Gegenees with the bridle of Pegasus and the eagle cage, all beyond the doors.
The achievement Devoted Follower asks for the first 20 rounds without leaving the inside of the Temple of Apollo, the same room as the ZFRR board.
The Ancient Evil leaderboard keeps separate boards for solo and for two, three and four players. Its reference category is Purist, played on Hardcore; other tabs take the Normal, Hardcore and Realistic games with or without elixirs. The rules of the Purist board:
