Random machines

Shangri-La was the second map to offer all eight perks of Black Ops. Like on Shi No Numa, most machines are placed at random at the start of each game, but in two separate groups, and two machines never move.

PerkCostWhere
Quick Revive1500, 500 soloAlways in the starting area, on the middle wall (First Room)
Juggernog2500Above ground: by a pillar near the MPL, or on the bridge beside the Mud-Pit Maze
Speed Cola3000Above ground: the other of the same two spots
PhD Flopper2000Underground: one of four spots in the caves
Stamin-Up2000Underground: one of the same four spots
Double Tap Root Beer2000Underground: one of the same four spots
Deadshot Daiquiri1000 on PCUnderground: one of the same four spots
Mule Kick4000Always at the bottom of the waterfall, near a Box spot

The four underground spots are near the water switches, in the room with the Semtex, in the room with the M16, and in the geyser room. Every machine needs the power, except Quick Revive in solo. The Shangri-La machines have a slightly different colour scheme from those of the earlier maps.

Quick Revive in solo

The Quick Revive machine of the starting area, Shangri-La, Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies

In a solo game, Quick Revive is lit from the start, costs 500 points and revives the player on their own when they go down. It works three times; after the third use, the machine flies away like a Mystery Box. In co-op it costs 1500 points and waits for the power like every other machine.

Free perks

The monkeys’ bottle

When a Zombie Monkey steals a Max Ammo dropped by a zombie, a Random Perk Bottle appears in the cycle on its back, for a quarter of a second, once per cycle. Shoot the monkey at that instant: the bottle gives a perk the player does not have, drawn at random among the machines of the map. With the power off, it is the only way to get those perks in the starting area.

Timing it

Every other power-up shows for one second, and the cycle always repeats in the same order. Watch the first round of the cycle to see where the bottle falls, then shoot on the second.

The Focusing Stone

The player who takes it at the end of the Easter egg gets every perk and keeps them for the rest of the game, even after going down.

Pack-a-Punch

The Pack-a-Punch machine at the top of the temple, Shangri-La, Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies

The Pack-a-Punch machine stands at the top of the temple stairs, in the starting area, but the lower part of the staircase is missing. Upgrading a weapon costs 5000 points.

  1. Turn on the power: pull both water levers in the power room.
  2. Find the stone statues: four small statues stand next to Quick Revive, under the big wooden bridge near the MP5K, next to the power switches, and in the cave towards the AK-74u. Each has four parts, and as many parts spin as there are players.
  3. Stand on the slabs: each statue has a stone slab beside it. One player per slab stops a spinning part; which slab goes with which part changes each time.
  4. Climb: once every spinning part has stopped, the missing stairs rise out of the ground. The machine stays open for about a minute, then water flushes everyone down the stairs and they sink again.

In co-op, all the players must stand on slabs at the same time. The skull that spins up the side of the stairs shows how much time is left.

First Room

With the doors closed, only Quick Revive is in reach, and only in solo, since the power cannot be turned on. The Pack-a-Punch is right above the starting area, but its stairs never rise. Every other perk has to come from the monkeys’ bottle.
