Gorod Krovi has three kinds of side challenges: the Trials of the tombstones in Belinski Square, the Time Trials that unlock melee weapons, and the challenges of the three wearables.

Trials
The Trials tombstones of Belinski Square in Gorod Krovi: every Trial and its reward, which ones a First Room game can finish, the four Time Trials and their melee weapons, and the Mangler Helmet, Valkyrie Drone Hat and Dragon Wings.

The tombstones
Four wooden graves stand in Belinski Square, one per player. Each one shows four symbols: three Trials drawn at random from a list, which the player must finish alone, and a fourth, fixed one at the bottom, shared by the whole team. A finished Trial is claimed at the grave: a skeletal arm rises from the ground with the reward. Finishing all of your solo Trials in one game earns the achievement Viktorious Revenge.
Top Trial
A Max Ammo.
Left Trial
A Pack-a-Punched HG 40, FFAR, MX Garand, NX ShadowClaw or L4 Siege. If the weapon is left to sink back, the grave can be opened again for another draw.
Right Trial
A random perk bottle.
Bottom Trial
The Gauntlet of Siegfried, once the Dragon Egg has been raised.
Every Trial
The top Trial is drawn from this list:
- Recover 3 Groph Pods while their light is still green.
- Ride the dragon from all three stations.
- Kill 10 Napalm Zombies with headshots.
- Shoot the helmet off five Russian Mangler Soldiers.
- Shoot the arm cannon off five Russian Mangler Soldiers.
- Take damage from dragon fire and survive.
The left Trial:
- Kill 30 zombies with the Guard of Fafnir.
- Absorb dragon fire with the Guard of Fafnir for 45 seconds in all.
- Kill 40 zombies with the Gigant Eye Beam.
- Kill 10 zombies with the Gigant Fingers within 3 seconds of sliding under them.
- Kill 8 zombies at once with the “elevator”, which is in fact the Bridge.
- Kill 10 Electrified Zombies with headshots.
The right Trial:
- Destroy all the arms of 6 Valkyrie Drones.
- Destroy the camera of 6 Valkyrie Drones.
- Survive 4 rounds in a row in the Hatchery.
- Kill 60 zombies with the mounted MG42.
- Kill 3 zombies at once with each of the three Flinger Traps.
- Kill 100 zombies with the Dragon Strike.
The bottom Trial follows the five stages of the Dragon Egg: bathe it in fire, kill Napalm Zombies, get penetrating kills, get melee kills, then incubate it.
Trials in the First Room
The tombstones are inside the First Room, so their rewards can be claimed doors closed. Only some Trials can be finished there: the ones that ask for kills on enemies that come to the square, such as the Mangler helmets and arm cannons, the arms and cameras of the Valkyrie Drones, or headshots on Electrified Zombies. Everything that needs the Guard of Fafnir, a trap, the Hatchery or a dragon station stays out of reach. Since the Trials are drawn at random, what a player can earn changes from game to game.
The ZFRR rules allow a player to patch their challenges, but not the rewards they give.
Time Trials
Four Time Trials ask to reach a round within a time limit. Each one adds a melee weapon to the board at the entrance of the Operations Bunker. They are not needed for the Easter egg.

The Round 20 trial also gives 10,000 XP and the achievement Time Attack; earlier trials can be failed without losing it. These weapons take a weapon slot, unlike the knife and the Bowie Knife.
Wearables
Three items can be worn on the head or back, one at a time, and swapped freely once unlocked. Progress is shared in co-op: once one is unlocked, every player can wear it.
Mangler Helmet
Shoot the helmet off five Russian Manglers and the arm cannon off five. Worn, it deals 30% more damage to Manglers and takes 50% less from them. On a mannequin on the second floor of the Department Store, left of the L-CAR 9.
Valkyrie Drone Hat
Shoot all the arms off six Valkyrie Drones and the red camera of six. Worn, it deals 30% more damage to drones, takes 50% less from them and halves electric damage. On a headless mannequin in front of Juggernog, in the Department Store.
Dragon Wings
Ride the dragon from all three stations, earn the Dragon Strike and raise the Dragon Egg. Worn, they cut fire and explosive damage by 30%, make the dragon free to call and let the wearer jump straight to the Hatchery from a pole by each station.
