Persistent Upgrades

Die Rise is the second of the three maps with Persistent Upgrades, the hidden bonuses that began on TranZit; the ones earned there carry over. They are earned by playing a certain way, lost the same way, follow you from game to game, and only work online. A green flash and a line from your character tell you when one is gained; a faint eerie sound tells you when one is lost.

On the First Room board

Ray Gun wall-buy

The Olympia is the spawn room’s only wall buy, so this upgrade would put a Ray Gun in the First Room for 500 points. It is banned, and B2’s 2023 vote kept it banned. On Die Rise it also works offline, for one game, if you meet its conditions.

Juggernog

It is lost at round 15, but its 90 extra health stays until your next down. Reconnecting to keep it past round 14 is not allowed.

Other upgrades

B2 allows a patch that awards upgrades at the start of the game, as long as they are not banned or out of reach at that point.

The Bank

On Die Rise the Bank is a pair of showers next to the power room: one to deposit, one to withdraw. They were added by a patch after release. The balance is the same as on TranZit and Buried, up to 250,000 points, in steps of 1000. Each withdrawal takes 1000 from the account and gives you 900: the other 100 is the fee.

Die Rise has its own way to double your money with Who’s Who: go down next to the showers, have your double deposit your points, then revive yourself. Your points come back, and the deposit stays.

The fridge

The fridge, the Weapon Locker, Hold to retrieve weapon in Die Rise, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

The Weapon Locker was added by the same patch, in the same room as the showers: ride the freight elevator down from the spawn room and jump across the gap. It is the fridge closest to you in that room. It keeps one weapon from game to game and from map to map, attachments, ammo and Pack-a-Punch included, but not the M1911, the Ballistic Knife or a wonder weapon.
