The Apothicon Servant

The wonder weapon of Shadows of Evil is a living Apothicon weapon, fed with a glowing morsel at each reload. Its single shot opens a purple black hole that sucks in the zombies around it and kills them whatever the round, then explodes and kills the ones still close. It holds one shot, with nine more in reserve, and up to ten after a Max Ammo.

It goes by four names on this map: Mar-Astagua, Nar-Ullaqua, Kor-Maroth and Lor-Zarozzor. It returns in Revelations, where it can be upgraded; on Shadows of Evil it cannot be Pack-a-Punched.

The three parts

Margwa Heart

Dropped by the first Margwa killed in the game. If nobody picks it up, it fades away, and the next Margwa killed drops a new one.

The Margwa Tentacle, Apothicon Servant part icon, Shadows of Evil, Call of Duty Black Ops III Zombies

Margwa Tentacle

From a purple Harvest Pod, the last stage of a pod, at random. Keep opening purple pods until it comes out.

The Xenomatter, Apothicon Servant part icon, Shadows of Evil, Call of Duty Black Ops III Zombies

Xenomatter

From round 12, each Parasite or Insanity Elemental killed by a player has a one in ten chance to drop it.

With the three parts, the Servant is built at a workbench: behind the boxing gym in the Waterfront District, in front of the Ruby Rabbit in the Canal District, or below the Tram station in the Footlight District. Only one Servant can be taken from the workbench; from then on, it is also in the Mystery Box.

Margwas

They shield themselves from its black holes. The Margwa has to be killed by its heads.

No upgrade

An upgraded version exists in the files of the game, but the step to earn it on this map was cut. A glitch let players upgrade it early on, and it was patched.

The Li’l Arnie

The Li’l Arnie is a tactical wonder weapon from the Mystery Box, three at a time. It is a glass jar with a small squid-like Apothicon inside. Thrown, the creature grows, draws the zombies, kills them one after another and earns a flow of points, then explodes. A Margwa destroys it at once.

Upgrading the Li’l Arnies

  1. Kill 100 zombies with Li’l Arnies. The kills of every player count together.
  2. Throw a Li’l Arnie at three items so that they vanish: a top hat on a mannequin’s head in Nero’s apartment, a bow tie on a shelf in the boxing gym, and a walking cane on a sofa on the lower floor of the Ruby Rabbit.
  3. Throw a Li’l Arnie on the ritual stand on the stage of the Black Lace Burlesque.
  4. The little Apothicon appears on the stage wearing the three items and dances to an instrumental version of Snakeskin Boots, with four Gateworms as its backup dancers. The zombies ignore the players during the show.
  5. When the song ends, they vanish in a purple cloud. Every player who holds Li’l Arnies gets them upgraded, and the Box now gives upgraded ones.

The upgraded Li’l Arnie is surrounded by a purple liquid instead of a green one. It kills faster, lasts longer and takes more hits from the Margwas.

In the First Room

Neither weapon can be had with the doors closed: the Mystery Box has no spot in the starting alley, and the three workbenches and the stage of the Burlesque are all in the districts.
