The First Room

On ZFRR, the Farm First Room is the yard and the barn: everything the team can reach from the spawn without buying a door. The map has a single door to buy, the one into the farmhouse, for 750 points, and it stays shut. The gate of the farm is closed in Survival, so the yard ends at the fence.

The barn has two floors. On the ground floor, at the bottom of the stairway between its two entrances, hangs the Olympia for 500 points; upstairs stands Double Tap Root Beer, for 2000 points. Quick Revive waits outside, by the left-hand entrance of the barn, for 1500 points, 500 in solo. The small shed between the barn and the farmhouse sells the Galvaknuckles for 6000 points. Everything else is behind the farmhouse door: Juggernog, Speed Cola, the MP5 and the Mystery Box, on the balcony upstairs. A First Room game on Farm is therefore played without Juggernog, with two perks, a shotgun, a pistol and a knife.

The records standing today, solo to four players, are shown next to this article, and the Farm leaderboard lists every run with its video, on two boards: No box and With box. The B2 rules that apply to Farm:

Doors closed

Opening the farmhouse door is not allowed, and neither are out-of-bounds glitches.

No Mystery Box

The Box can be reached from outside the farmhouse, but hitting it is not allowed on B2, a ban confirmed by the 2023 vote (52.2% against). ZFRR keeps those games on a separate With box board.

Starting round

A Custom Game may start on round 1, 5 or 10. Every other Custom Game option stays on its default.

Hellhounds off

Hellhound rounds must stay disabled, a rule voted in 2026 and in effect since March 2, 2026. Games played with them before the ban remain valid, and B2 itself asks for a new vote.

One board

A separate category for the top of the barn was proposed in 2026 and voted down.

PC

Plutonium in its latest version, with the B2FR community patch, is required.

The rules of a Farm First Room, and how the map is played

Overview

The barn and the shed at the Farm, seen from the farmhouse porch in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Farm is one of the stops of TranZit, cut out of the big map and sold as a standalone map with Black Ops II, playable in Survival and Grief. Three buildings, a barn, a shed and a farmhouse, stand around a small field. Of the three TranZit Survival maps, it sits in the middle: more than Bus Depot, with four perks and a larger play area, but no Pack-a-Punch and much less room than Town. There is no power switch: every machine works from the first round.

The farm as it stands in TranZit, with its Turret, its fridge and its bus part, is described on TranZit: Locations.

Characters

In Survival and Grief, nobody from the TranZit story is playable. The team is made of CIA or CDC operatives, the two government factions of the Green Run Survival and Grief maps. In Grief, the two factions face each other. They never speak: the voice of the game is the announcer, Edward Richtofen.

The farm belongs to the crew of TranZit, the four survivors who play the full map:

Enemies

Two zombies with glowing blue eyes tearing at a boarded window in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Zombies

The only enemy of a standard game.

Two burning zombies coming at the player in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Burning zombies

A zombie that walks through fire or lava catches fire and explodes when it dies. The blast hurts players and can down them.

Hellhounds

Only in Custom Games, where the host can switch Hellhound rounds on. Bus Depot, Farm and Town are the only maps with that option, and B2 now bans it in a First Room game.

The TranZit specials are gone: no Denizens in the fog, and no Avogadro, who only appears when the power is turned on.

Perks

Four Perk-a-Colas, all working from the start, since Farm has no power switch. Two are in the First Room, two behind the farmhouse door:

The Quick Revive machine outside the barn, by its left-hand entrance in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Quick Revive

1500 points, 500 in solo. Outside, by the left-hand entrance of the barn.

Double Tap Root Beer perk machine, render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Double Tap Root Beer

2000 points, on the upper floor of the barn, where it also stands in TranZit. In Black Ops II it is Double Tap 2.0: faster fire and double damage on every bullet.

The Speed Cola machine on the ground floor of the farmhouse in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Speed Cola

3000 points, on the ground floor of the farmhouse, in the back room by the staircase.

The Juggernog machine upstairs in the farmhouse, next to the sofa in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Juggernog

2500 points, on the upper floor of the farmhouse, right above Speed Cola.

Weapons

Every game starts with an M1911, the knife and frag grenades. Three weapons hang on the walls:

Olympia double-barrel shotgun, menu render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Olympia

500 points, on the ground floor of the barn, where the Remington 870 MCS hangs in TranZit.

MP5 submachine gun, menu render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

MP5

1000 points, on the upper floor of the farmhouse, facing Juggernog.

The Galvaknuckles chalk drawing glowing on the wall of the shed in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Galvaknuckles

6000 points, in the small shed between the barn and the farmhouse. They kill a zombie in one punch until round 14.

Mystery Box

The Mystery Box on the farmhouse balcony in Farm, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

The Box has a single spot: on the balcony of the farmhouse, on the upper floor. It never moves. It costs 950 points a spin and holds the Ray Gun, the Ray Gun Mark II once the Vengeance map pack is installed, the War Machine, the RPG, Monkey Bombs and EMP Grenades, among the twenty-five weapons and grenades of its list. A player standing on the railing next to the pillar can reach it with a crouch jump without opening the farmhouse door, which is what the With box board of the leaderboard is about.

The truck

An old truck stands in the middle of the yard, between the barn and the farmhouse. Players train zombies around it.

Fire

Parts of the farm are burning. Fire hurts players, and zombies that walk through it come out burning.

The gate

The road to the rest of TranZit is closed off by the farm gate, and the fog lies beyond.

Pack-a-Punch, upgrades and the Bank

Farm has no Pack-a-Punch and no traps: every gun stays at its base level all game. The Persistent Upgrades of TranZit do not work in Survival or Grief, and neither the Bank, which sits in Town on TranZit, nor the fridge of the farmhouse, the Weapon Locker of TranZit, can be used here. There is also nothing to build: the Turret and the bus part of TranZit belong to the full map.

Secrets

Survival maps have no Easter egg and no quest, and Farm is no exception. The TranZit secrets of the farm, the second teddy bear of the song Carrion, on a mattress upstairs in the farmhouse, and the old TV that plays radio messages, are part of the full map. What the Survival map keeps are small details:

The scope reflection

Stand in front of the fence with a sniper rifle and the barn appears in the scope as it was before the destruction of the Earth.

The crow

By the window of the shed with the Galvaknuckles, a crow can be heard cawing.

The wolf

Near the fence close to the back door of the farmhouse, a wolf howls.

Achievements

Farm has no achievement of its own. The ten Zombies achievements of the base game are written for TranZit, and only one of them can be earned here:

AchievementHowGamerscoreTrophy
The Lights Of Their Eyes achievement icon, Call of Duty Black Ops II ZombiesThe Lights Of Their EyesIn Green Run, pacify at least 10 zombies with 1 EMP5GBronze

Take an EMP Grenade from the Box, gather a train of ten zombies or more and throw it into the middle. It cannot be done in a First Room game, where the Box is off limits.

Trivia

  • On the silo outside the farm, the Russian word “заражено” is painted. It means “Infected”.
  • An early version of the farm, seen in development images, had no lava, no fog and was set at night.
  • Grief on Green Run only shipped on Farm and Town.
  • Rarely, after the Box has left the farm in a TranZit game, it is missing the next time the player loads Farm.
  • The early TranZit design had players stop at the farm to refill food and ammo, a mechanic that was cut.
