On ZFRR, the Bus Depot First Room is the depot hall where the game starts: the waiting room of the TranZit bus station. Two wall buys, the M14 and the Olympia, both at 500 points, wooden barricades on the windows, and nothing else. No perk machine, no Mystery Box: the Box waits outside, behind the only door you can buy, for 750 points.

The two metal doors on the garage side stay shut all game: they need power, and Bus Depot Survival has none. A First Room run is therefore played with two guns, a knife and a stock of grenades, and without Quick Revive: in solo, the first down is the last. The records standing today, solo to four players, are shown next to this article, and the Bus Depot leaderboard lists every run with its video.

Overview

Bus Depot is the first stop of TranZit, cut out of the big map and sold as a standalone Survival map with Black Ops II. It is the most stripped-down map of Black Ops II: no perks, no Pack-a-Punch, one Mystery Box spot, four wall weapons and a small play space boxed in by lava and fog. Of the three TranZit Survival maps, it is the one built to be the hardest.

Characters

In Survival, nobody from the TranZit story is playable. The team is made of CIA or CDC operatives, the two government factions of the Green Run Survival and Grief maps. They never speak: the only voice of the game is the announcer, Edward Richtofen.

The depot itself belongs to the TranZit crew, the four survivors who play the full map:

The opening cutscene of Buried shows the depot as the place where Russman and Stuhlinger picked up Misty and Marlton in the bus.

Enemies

A zombie at a boarded window of the depot hall in Bus Depot, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Zombies

The only enemy of a standard game. They come from every side of the lot, through the windows of the hall first.

A zombie on fire walking along the depot after crossing lava in Bus Depot, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Burning zombies

A zombie that walks through lava catches fire and explodes when it dies. The blast hurts players and can down them.

Hellhounds

Only in Custom Games, where the host can switch Hellhound rounds on. Bus Depot, Farm and Town are the only maps with that option.

The TranZit specials are gone: no Denizens in the fog, and no Avogadro, who only appears when the power is turned on.

Perks

None. Bus Depot has no Perk-a-Cola at all, not even Quick Revive in solo. The Quick Revive machine that stands in the hall in TranZit is not there in Survival. There is no Pack-a-Punch either: every gun stays at its base level all game.

Weapons

Every game starts with an M1911, the knife and frag grenades. Four guns hang on the walls:

M14 semi-automatic rifle, menu render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

M14

500 points, inside the hall.

Olympia double-barrel shotgun, menu render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Olympia

500 points, inside the hall.

MP5 submachine gun, menu render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

MP5

1000 points, on the wall across the street from the depot entrance.

Remington 870 MCS pump-action shotgun, menu render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Remington 870 MCS

1500 points, on the outside wall of the depot, next to the door.

Everything else comes from the Mystery Box, 950 points a spin, which has a single spot: on the sidewalk outside, right next to the 750 door. It never moves, so the teddy bear never sends it away. It holds the Ray Gun, the Ray Gun Mark II with the Vengeance map pack, Monkey Bombs and EMP Grenades.

Lava and fog

Pools of lava across the lot behind a skull warning sign in Bus Depot, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Lava

Pools of lava cut through the lot. Standing in them burns players, and zombies that cross them come out on fire.

Fog

Beyond the lot, the road disappears into the TranZit fog.

The back alley

Just right of the Box, a narrow path crosses the lava safely to a small area behind it, where zombies only come from the front.

What is left of TranZit

The hall is the TranZit starting room, and most of what made it useful in TranZit is switched off in Survival:

The Turbine buildable, fan, mannequin and tail assembled, model render, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Turbine

Its three parts, fan, mannequin and tail, sit in the hall in TranZit, but the Turbine cannot be built in Survival.

The metal doors of the depot hall, shut, beside the workbench in Bus Depot, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Power doors

The two metal doors need power, which TranZit gets from a Turbine. In Survival they never open, and the 750 door is the only way out.

The TranZit bus, and the B23R sold on board, belong to the full map only.

Secrets

Survival maps have no Easter egg and no quest, and Bus Depot is no exception. The TranZit secrets tied to the depot, such as the teddy bear on a bench outside that counts toward the song Carrion, are part of the full map, where the two other bears sit in the Farm and in Town.

Achievements

Bus Depot has no achievement of its own. The ten Zombies achievements of the base game are written for TranZit, and only one of them can be earned here:

Trivia

  • A garage on the lot carries the sign Sickle Garage, repeated in its window.
  • The bus always starts its route at the depot in TranZit, and the town is its last stop before the loop begins again.
  • Traces of a Bus Depot Grief mode remain in the game files, but it was never released: Grief only shipped on Farm and Town for Green Run.
  • If a player walks out into the fog during a Survival game, no Denizen spawns.
