Black Ops 7 closes the Dark Aether Saga begun in Black Ops Cold War. Every map takes place inside the Dark Aether itself, where places torn from the real world drift at different points in time. The crew grows to eight: Weaver, Grey, Carver and Maya, joined by Dark Aether versions of Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai, all hunted by a new enemy, the Warden.

Six round-based maps came out from launch to Season 5 Reloaded, from Ashes of the Damned, the largest round-based map ever made, to the finale Rex Infernus. Black Ops 7 also brought back Survival, for the first time since Black Ops II: smaller areas cut out of the big maps, with no quest and every machine at hand. Twelve of these maps have their First Room board here, from solo to four players.

The First Room in Black Ops 7: No GobbleGums

ZFRR tracks Black Ops 7 in a single category, No GobbleGums: the run is played with every door shut and without a single gum. Gums reach a team two ways in this game, the pack of five chosen before the game and the GobbleGum machine that stands in the starting area of the maps, and neither is used. Breaking a gum down for Essence is not allowed either.

Doors closed

The whole game is played in the starting area, every round in full.

No GobbleGum

None from the pack, none from the machine, none recycled for points. Keeping the three Whimsical gums in the pack is recommended: one taken by mistake does not void the run.

Latest patch

The game is still updated, and a patch that changes its balance can lead to a board being reset.

Starting Room

Since Season 2, the game has its own mode where every door of the starting area stays locked, the closest official match to a First Room.

What Black Ops 7 Zombies brings

Survival is back

A part of a big map, no quest, every machine, for as many rounds as a team can hold.

Cursed mode

A pistol start, no loadout, no minimap and the point system of Black Ops III, with Relics that add constraints.

Augments

A major and a minor augment for every perk, Ammo Mod and Field Upgrade, 192 in all.

Pack-a-Punch

In three tiers, melee and Wonder Weapons included, and rarity raised with Salvage at the Arsenal.

Ol’ Tessie

The first Wonder Vehicle, a pickup truck that carries the crew through the fog of Ashes of the Damned.

Twelve perks

At launch, a new one among them, Wisp Tea, and Overheal, which raises maximum health for a while.

Ashes of the Damned

(November 14, 2025): places torn into the Dark Aether and linked by roads lost in the fog. The game starts at the Janus Towers Plaza.

Farm

(November 14, 2025, Survival): Vandorn Farm, a reworked Farm from Black Ops II.

Astra Malorum

(December 4, 2025, Season 1): an observatory on an asteroid among the rings of Saturn. The game starts at the Crash Site.

Exit 115

(December 4, 2025, Survival): a roadside stop around Reba’s Diner, a reworked Diner from Black Ops II.

Zarya Cosmodrome

(January 8, 2026, Survival): a Soviet launch site around its rocket.

Paradox Junction

(March 11, 2026, Season 2 Reloaded): Nuketown caught in a time loop around a nuclear test.

Ashwood

(April 2, 2026, Survival): a frontier town split across a valley. The game starts in Rabbit Alley.

Totenreich

(April 30, 2026, Season 3 Reloaded): a Norwegian village turned into a Group 935 base. The game starts at Eidskallen Landing.

Nuked

(June 4, 2026, Survival): Nuketown frozen after the blast.

Kowakujo

Lighthouse
