Carrion

The musical Easter egg of TranZit is Carrion, written and performed by Kevin Sherwood and sung by Clark S. Nova. Like the songs of older maps, it plays once you press the use button on three teddy bears:

  1. Bus Depot: just outside the First Room, on the wooden bench closest to the fog on the way to the Diner, near a pool of lava.
  2. Farm: upstairs in the farmhouse, on a mattress.
  3. Town: in the bar, on a cushioned seat by the billiards table, to the left of Stamin-Up.

During development, the bears played “Try It Out” by Skrillex. Carrion replaced it before release, and later appeared on the Mob of the Dead soundtrack.

Nacht der Untoten

Inside the Nacht der Untoten building, the broken staircase in TranZit, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Deep in the cornfield between the Farm and the Power Station, on the right side of the road, a few paths through the corn end at a familiar bunker: the starting room of Nacht der Untoten, the first Zombies map, from World at War. The game files call it the Prototype. It holds no weapon, only the Jet Gun handbrake and sometimes the NAV Table radio.

Leaked story drafts describe a cut Easter egg built around this building: Victis would have revived the bodies of the original crew there and sent them back in time.

Smaller secrets

Town seen intact in a sniper scope reflection, as it was before Moon in TranZit, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Before Moon

Look at the reflection in a sniper scope, such as the DSR 50, and you see the area as it was before the end of the world. The Diner shows up full of people under a lit sign.

The old TV in the farmhouse in TranZit, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

The farm TV

An old TV in the farmhouse plays radio messages when used. They tell of the groups Maxis and Richtofen tried to recruit before Victis.

The poster of the electric tower marked POWER! on a wall of the depot hall, the First Room in TranZit, Call of Duty Black Ops II Zombies

Posters

The First Room walls carry a poster of the electric tower marked “POWER!”, plus “Nuke Donkey” and “Ride The Bus”.

The traffic light

In Town, a traffic light blinks a Morse code message: “Help me so I can help you, the future is ours to destroy, power is knowledge, go to the light, stay close to me, energy can only be transformed”.

Laughter in the corn

The ghostly laugh of a little girl can be heard in the cornfield, best under the Pylon.

Depot announcements

Once the power is on, an unseen speaker makes announcements at the depot.

Cut content

A bigger, clearer map

The original TranZit had almost no lava, much less fog and a larger play area, cut down for performance and memory.

More sub-maps

The Cornfield, Nacht der Untoten, Power Station and Tunnel were planned as separate maps. Only Bus Depot, Farm, Town and Diner shipped.

More modes

Cleansed, Containment, Dead Pool, Meat, No Man’s Land, Pitted, Race and Returned were all scrapped.

A harsher bus

Leaked 2025 documents describe a bus that broke down and needed fuel, turret and armor upgrades, and a hunger system tied to the Farm.

A real boss fight

The Avogadro was meant to attack as soon as the power came on, forcing a run back to the bus.

In a First Room game

The first Carrion bear sits outside the 750 door, a few steps from the hall, and the “POWER!” poster hangs inside it. The rest of the secrets are on the other side of the fog.
