Ascension

BO1
A Soviet cosmodrome under the snow, with a rocket that launches exactly once and takes part of the map with it. Ascension brought the Gersch Device, the Matryoshka Dolls, the lunar landers that carry you between zones, and the Space Monkeys.
The monkey rounds are the map's signature and its cruelty: they ignore you completely and go for the Perk-a-Cola machines instead. Lose a machine and the perk is gone for the rest of the game. The Thundergun returns in the box, and the Pack-a-Punch only opens once the rocket has fired.
The First Room is the bottom of the launch site, a long room with a pit in the middle and the M14 and Olympia on its walls. There is enough space to run a loop, which is rare on Black Ops, but the stairs behind you open a second front the moment you commit to a direction. On a First Room run the monkeys are the real wall: you have almost nothing to defend the machines with.

We do not maintain our own ruleset. ZFRR follows the competitive First Room rules written and maintained by the player Zi0 on his site B2, the reference used across the Zombies community.
B2 gathers the global rules — no memory tools, no macros, no out-of-bounds glitches, no emulators — and those specific to the First Room category: doors stay closed, fast ray, rapid fire and the fast-throw grenade glitch are forbidden, while fast knifing and split-screen remain allowed. Every change is voted on publicly.
A run below the required round is not added to the leaderboard. The lowest column shows what is currently on the board : beating it is enough to appear.
| First Room | Mode | Required | Lowest listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ascension | Solo | 40 | 40 26 listed |
| Ascension | 2P | 35 | 35 28 listed |
A run that breaks these rules is not accepted, whatever the round reached. If a username, a nationality or a score looks wrong, tell us through the contact form.
