A gladiator arena in Roman Egypt, the second map of Black Ops 4. Scarlett, Diego, Bruno and Shaw breathe the vapors of an oracle in Delphi and wake up as prisoners of the High Priest of Chaos, thrown into the games against the undead. A game starts in a tunnel that leads into the arena. The arena is the First Room: the doors on its edge open the Danu and Ra temples, and everything else lies behind them.

Its walls hold the Strife and the Essex Model 07, 500 points each. There is no perk altar: all four stand inside the temples. The crowd keeps score. Kill fast and it throws a power-up into the arena every round; take hits and it throws dung that costs 250 points, then objects that hurt. Zombie tigers show up at random. The game's own achievement, My Home is the Arena, asks for round 20 without opening a gate.

The IX First Room leaderboard on Zombie First Room Rankings tracks every verified run held in the starting room of IX, on Call of Duty : Black Ops 4. 92 records are listed here, and the best rounds on record are 42 in solo by ViXTEY, 41 in 2 players by ThePrettyRabbit, 36 in 3 players by ThePrettyRabbit and 31 in 4 players by edguy9187.

IX counts in the Purist ranking, in solo and with two players. Its difficulty coefficient — solo 6.1 and two players 4.7 — multiplies every round reached here, and also weighs its rounds in the ZFRR rating of the players who hold them. Three and four-player runs are listed here and count in the rating only.

First Room is the purest discipline in Call of Duty Zombies: no Pack-a-Punch run around the map, no easter egg, no train through open ground. You hold the spawn room of IX, you keep the doors closed, and you push the round counter as far as the horde allows. Every high round, world record and personal best on this page is backed by its video and checked against the reference boards before it is listed.

Rules / Informations

Black Ops 4 First Rooms are tracked in eight categories. Purist (Hardcore) is the reference: reach the highest round you can without opening any door or barrier, every round played in full, no glitch or exploit, and in solo and with two players it scores points in the Purist ranking. The seven other categories, from Normal to Realistic difficulty, with or without elixirs, count in the player ratings only.

Purist means no elixirs and no talismans, only Frag Grenades and Acid Bombs, the Welling or a wall weapon to start with, and no special weapon. Tag der Toten and Dead of the Night are played on the custom mutations their rules list.

The pregame lobby must be shown, with every player's loadout. The Project-BO4 client is allowed; nothing else may be injected into the game but fast restarts. Split-screen is allowed, bots are not, and neither is duplicating weapons. The health, the points, the round counter, the top right of the screen and the chat are never covered. The rules specific to each map are listed on its leaderboard.

Game versions and platforms

The version the game is played on is part of the rules. A run played on a platform or a client refused below is not listed, whatever the round or the time — and a run already on the board is removed from it.
