The Archon

VG Battle.net : available PC : available Xbox : available PlayStation : available

An oasis in the Eastern Desert of Egypt, in 1944, after Shi No Numa, and the Corrupted Lands of the Dark Aether beyond it. Gabriel Krafft and his team come back to sever Von List's bond with Kortifex the Deathless: they pass the trials of the Construct, a mysterious monolith, and face Kortifex in the last chapter of Vanguard Zombies. Treyarch built the map from the Egyptian setting of Terra Maledicta, an objective map, after players kept asking for it in rounds. It is the only Vanguard map with three Wonder Weapons: the Ray Gun, the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and the Decimator Shield.

A game starts in the Temple, among ruins and palm trees, where the Pack-a-Punch stands broken: its two missing parts lie far from the room, on a train car in the Derailment and on a plane wing in the Spike. As on Shi No Numa, special rounds bring Boom Schreiers, zombies that run at the players and explode.

The Archon First Room

The The Archon First Room leaderboard on Zombie First Room Rankings tracks every verified run held in the starting room of The Archon, on Call of Duty : Vanguard. 40 records are listed here, and the best rounds on record are 40 in solo by Sunly, 35 in 2 players by L-L, 37 in 3 players by L-L and 37 in 4 players by Skrine.

The Archon is tracked outside the rankings: its records earn no ranking points, because no ranking takes it. It does carry a difficulty coefficient — solo 6.8 and two players 6 — which is what weighs its rounds in the ZFRR rating of the players who hold them.

First Room is the purest discipline in Call of Duty Zombies: no Pack-a-Punch run around the map, no easter egg, no train through open ground. You hold the spawn room of The Archon, you keep the doors closed, and you push the round counter as far as the horde allows. Every high round, world record and personal best on this page is backed by its video and checked against the reference boards before it is listed.

Rules / Informations

Vanguard First Rooms are tracked in a single category on its two round-based maps, Shi No Numa and The Archon: reach the highest round you can without leaving the first room, every round played in full, no glitch or exploit.

Full gameplay is required. On Shi No Numa, skipping the Boom Schreier rounds is not allowed. The rules of each map are listed on its leaderboard.

Game versions and platforms

The version the game is played on is part of the rules. A run played on a platform or a client refused below is not listed, whatever the round or the time — and a run already on the board is removed from it.
