Call of the Dead

BO1 PC : available Xbox : available PlayStation : available Plutonium : available

A frozen Siberian shore, a beached trawler and a lighthouse, with four actors playing themselves: Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker and Robert Englund. Call of the Dead is the strangest map in the series and the only one where the antagonist is a film director.

George A. Romero follows you the whole game. He grows angry when you shoot him, electrifies the water he walks through, and only drops a Random Perk Bottle when he is finally beaten, before he comes back. The Scavenger and the V-R11 come from the Mystery Box, and the Wunderwaffe is given to whoever finishes the easter egg.

The First Room is the frozen shore where the game starts, with Quick Revive and one window. Wide open, exposed on every side, and shared with George, who never stops coming. That is what makes this board read differently from every other one on the site: a First Room run here is a run with a permanent second opponent who does not follow the round counter.

Call of the Dead First Room

The Call of the Dead First Room leaderboard on Zombie First Room Rankings tracks every verified run held in the starting room of Call of the Dead, on Call of Duty : Black Ops. 71 records are listed here, and the best rounds on record are 72 in solo by PGargler, 55 in two players by Salisky, 45 in 3 players by Salisky and 28 in 4 players by Salisky.

Call of the Dead counts in one ranking. The difficulty coefficient multiplies every round reached here, which is how a round 30 on a tight starting room can be worth more than a round 50 on an open one: “High Rounds” First Room (solo 4, two players 3.7).

Call of the Dead is remembered for the Siberian ship and the lighthouse, George Romero himself as a boss, the frozen trawler and the zipline. The crew: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Danny Trejo, Michael Rooker, Robert Englund and George A. Romero. Weapons and wonder weapons: V-R11, Scavenger, Ray Gun and Sickle. Perks on the map: Juggernog, Quick Revive, Speed Cola, Double Tap, PhD Flopper, Stamin-Up and Deadshot Daiquiri.

First Room is the purest discipline in Call of Duty Zombies: no Pack-a-Punch run around the map, no easter egg, no train through open ground. You hold the spawn room of Call of the Dead, you keep the doors closed, and you push the round counter as far as the horde allows. Every high round, world record and personal best on this page is backed by its video and checked against the reference boards before it is listed.

Rules / Informations

We do not maintain our own ruleset. ZFRR follows the competitive First Room rules written and maintained by the player Zi0 on his site B2, the reference used across the Zombies community.

B2 gathers the global rules (no memory tools, no macros, no out-of-bounds glitches, no emulators) and those specific to the First Room category: doors stay closed, fast ray, rapid fire and the fast-throw grenade glitch are forbidden, while fast knifing and split-screen remain allowed. Every change is voted on publicly.

Lowest round on the board

This ranking has no fixed entry round. The column below shows the lowest round currently on the board : beating it is enough to appear.

First Room	Mode	Lowest listed
Call of the Dead	Solo	18 19 listed
Call of the Dead	2P	10 34 listed

Game versions and platforms

The version the game is played on is part of the rules. A run played on a platform or a client refused below is not listed, whatever the round or the time — and a run already on the board is removed from it.

Call of Duty : Black Ops

Platform	Rule
Steam The host must show the files of the `zone/Common` directory and launch the game from the executable itself, not from a shortcut.	ALLOWED
Plutonium The anticheat output must stay visible : the text in the upper right corner and the checksums in the upper left corner are never covered.	ALLOWED
BGamer Same requirement as Steam : show `zone/Common` and launch from the executable.	ALLOWED
Xbox 360 / One / Series	ALLOWED
PS3	ALLOWED
PS4 / PS5	ALLOWED
Wii	NOT ALLOWED

A run that breaks these rules is not accepted, whatever the round reached. If a username, a nationality or a score looks wrong, tell us through the contact form.
