Origins

The excavation site in 1917, in the rain and the mud, with a giant robot walking over your head. Origins is the map that closed Black Ops II and rewrote the whole story of Zombies, back to the original four as children of the war.

Six generators to defend, four elemental staffs to build and upgrade, the Panzer Soldat hunting you personally, and a tank you can ride between zones. It is the densest map of the era and the one with the longest easter egg.

The First Room is the trench you spawn in. Tight, crooked, and slowed by the ground itself: the mud drags every step and there is no clean loop anywhere. It is the room the whole board is measured against, and a Panzer arriving in it leaves very little room to answer.

The Origins First Room leaderboard on Zombie First Room Rankings tracks every verified run held in the starting room of Origins, on Call of Duty : Black Ops II. 112 records are listed here, and the best rounds on record are 62 in solo by FilipinoAssassin, 58 in two players by Flames, 48 in 3 players by Waad and 42 in 4 players by Astrox.

Origins counts in one ranking. The difficulty coefficient multiplies every round reached here, which is how a round 30 on a tight starting room can be worth more than a round 50 on an open one: “High Rounds” First Room (solo 6.8, two players 5.8).

Origins is remembered for the dig site in France, 1918, the giant robots crossing the map, the Panzersoldat and the mud that slows every step. The crew: Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, Edward Richtofen and Samantha Maxis. Weapons and wonder weapons: Staff of Wind, Staff of Ice, Staff of Fire, Staff of Lightning, Mauser C96 and Ray Gun. Perks on the map: Juggernog, Quick Revive, Speed Cola, Double Tap Root Beer, Stamin-Up and PhD Flopper.

First Room is the purest discipline in Call of Duty Zombies: no Pack-a-Punch run around the map, no easter egg, no train through open ground. You hold the spawn room of Origins, you keep the doors closed, and you push the round counter as far as the horde allows. Every high round, world record and personal best on this page is backed by its video and checked against the reference boards before it is listed.

Rules / Informations

We do not maintain our own ruleset. ZFRR follows the competitive First Room rules written and maintained by the player Zi0 on his site B2, the reference used across the Zombies community.

B2 gathers the global rules (no memory tools, no macros, no out-of-bounds glitches, no emulators) and those specific to the First Room category: doors stay closed, fast ray, rapid fire and the fast-throw grenade glitch are forbidden, while fast knifing and split-screen remain allowed. Every change is voted on publicly.

Game versions and platforms

The version the game is played on is part of the rules. A run played on a platform or a client refused below is not listed, whatever the round or the time — and a run already on the board is removed from it.

Black Ops II on Plutonium

A First Room run played on Plutonium must use the B2FR patch, the First Room community patch maintained by B2, in its latest version: a version becomes invalid once it is a month old and a newer one has been out for 72 hours. Without it, a PC run is not comparable to the rest of the board, and it is refused whatever the round or the time.

A run that breaks these rules is not accepted, whatever the round reached. If a username, a nationality or a score looks wrong, tell us through the contact form.
